And you know, I would've signed up for that.....PRIOR TO THE SEASON STARTING.

But now that the Devils are in THIS position, I don't want to be in a situation where missing the playoffs is a possibility.

Sorry but the Devils have raised the bar here and if the end up missing after the start they got, I will be very disappointed to say the least.

The Devils aren't missing, a bad injury has to happen for that to occur.

Well, missing the playoffs is different and I probably won't be able to trust this team ever again. I don't think it'll come to that because...it really will suck. Not just for us but probably for the players too.
That's why battling for a Wildcard is NOT preferable because you're basically teetering on the edge of the abyss, so to speak.

Whereas if you are leading the Division, you're in fine shape.

But if the Devils don't shape up and take their heads out of their collective asses, that abyss will start getting closer.

To touch on the out of town scores, the Canes beating the Red Wings in regulation is BETTER for us.

The Canes are gonna be in the playoffs this year. The Red Wings are likely not.

There's nothing wrong with a team that's a playoff lock capping some of the competition along the bubble.

The Caps have been making a bit of a run recently, but them playing Chicago is a freebie win at this point. That's a freebie for almost anybody. In fact, the Rangers are the only team I think to lose to the Blackhawks in their last 11 or 12 games. They've lost I think something like 11 of their last 12, with that Rangers win )against Halak, wasn't it?) being their lone win in that stretch.

Florida hosting the CBJ, again that was a FREEBIE win. The CBJ are literally the worst steaming pile of garbage shit team in the league right now, short of Chicago. And Chicago is SUPPOSED to be BAD. The CBJ signing Gaudreau signals they didn't intend to be bad.

Now, signing Gudbranson signals they intend to be bad, but they clearly don't know that he's bad.
this is classic, December scoreboard watching. So sad.

That's usually how that works.....? Why would the one year where his stats are better overdo his years of being bad? People said this shit about Zacha every f***ing year, lmao.:laugh::laugh:
So previous seasons of this team being crap carry more weight then this season of playing well?

Schmid has benefited from a lot of post hits this year. I feel like about 1-1.5 per game

But even if say 4 of those post hits turn into goals (cause not all of them would), he'd still have a .917% on the season and not a .939%. And that's still pretty good.

He's been the biggest surprise of this season for me.

He needs one ass beating in net before you can really justify sending him down.

I said at worst case. I really doubt it will come to that. If Fitz/Ruff allows it, they should be fired.

I actually didn't hear it, I just saw his face on my TV

I bet it was Ryan Novozinsky though

On one hand I appreciate them calling him out, but on the other hand it's almost like getting mad at your grandma for not being able to hear what you're saying because her hearing is shot or forgetting simple things, due to being old and the mind going.

I'm glad NHL center ice shows post games (and pre games) this year. That's something new for this year.
It wasn’t Novo, I forget his name but he’s alway the first guy you hear during the pressers other than Amanda.

When’s the last time we scored a nice tic tac toe goal off the cycle . When we were hot , we were globetrotting treams , setting up beautiful plays and peppering Te other team. I wonder if they have lost some of their mojo / confidence . We were making multiple beautiful plays a period . Now that hasn’t happened for awhile?

Lots of crazies in here.

This team just had a historic stretch. A slump was due. This ‘slump’ had three games where they easily should have won.

SHIT HAPPENS

THE TEAM IS YOUNG

THE TEAM IS STILL OUTPLAYING THEIR OPPONENTS

This was just their third regulation loss in 50 days.

People called me a pessimist for not buying in to this team before they had even proven they could win.

What do you call people who believe the team is on the cusp of a death spiral because they haven’t played well for a couple of weeks after winning like 20 of 22 games?:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Wait...you seriously disappeared from this site for 7+ weeks while the Devils are doing great and now suddenly reappear when the Devils begin to struggle?

Has to just be a troll account, right?

The Devils are not the Yankees, and hockey isn't baseball.

I get what you're saying, but to paraphrase Jules Winnefield, that is literally not in the same ballpark, league, or sport.
Perhaps the New York Giants would be a better analogy?

wow, now their battling for a wildcard. I hope you guys don't talk like this to people with hocley knowledge. Hiding on a message board and embarrassing yourself by showing how little you know about an 82 game NHL season is one thing but to do it in person in public is a whole other form of humilation. Just hope yo don't have any Devils gear on when you spew your lack of hockey iq.

It's called scouting. Teams are much more cognizant of our players off the puck.

Either we've lost a step because the team is gassed, or teams have figured out how to play us. Maybe both.

Sending him down?
Yeah, sending him back to Utica

I know they're gonna do it anyway, but he hasn't done a damn thing to prove he should be off the team right now.

The post has helped him out a bit, but he's been pretty solid even if half of those post hits go in.

I've only been liking comments because it was a stooge fest. And for the record, I am not jumping off a cliff becuase they aren't on a 8 game winning streak.
