Confirmed with Link: [DAL/NYR] Zuccarello (30% retained) for 2019 2nd (Cond 1st*,) & 2020 3rd (Cond 1st**)

Zucc is a rental. It's entirely possible he resigns with us over the summer. We aren't going anywhere. Take what we can, swing for the fences and hope at least one of the conditions hit, and work on rebuilding.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Zucc took a discount to go play with Tampa and his old buddies.

Read my post. I say that they are not equally likely.
 
Not that great a trade. I think the Nash/Grabner deals are better and the McD deal won't be known about for 4-5 years.

Rest of the league probably doesn't view Zuc as that great, just good.
 
Here to Zuccarello meshing with Dallas and becoming a fan favorite..

Also I think he ends up resigning with NYR which does lose out on a first, but basically we just got two picks for free.

All positive outcomes are highly unlikely. But it’s a risk to take. Remember, we have loads of talented prospects, and loads of picks. Also a pending Kevin Hayes trade to add for that.

Agreed. The rumored return for weeks has been a 2nd + another piece. No GM can forcibly make another pay more than what's offered. My guess is the reason this got done today is because Dallas stepped up and attached conditions to the picks being offered, which no other team was willing/able to do.

I hate that we had to trade him just as much as any of us here, but anyone outraged by this return hasn't been paying attention.
 
Lol at anyone who actually believed these head office scrubs would get anything meaningful back for him. You guys got what you wanted.

Not for the rumored term of 5 years (I believe that is what he was looking for with the Rangers).
