You guys retaining salary on this deal makes me think both of our GM's are f***ing hammered drunk right now and tried to pull off the dumbest trade possible.

I like Zucc, but as a Stars fan this makes 0 sense for either of us.

If he stays in Dallas that can easily become a top 10 pick. Not really confident that the Stars will win 2 playoff rounds but to be honest, I don't mind rolling the dice on this type of deal compared to a 2nd and solid prospect.

My thoughts exactly, such an odd trade. It’s almost like they’re both drunk off there ass laughing like let’s make this deal so f***ing complicated for the meme

Fully agree.

Even if it's just a 2nd and a 3rd it's a fair...ish deal.

I think gorts is trying to swing for the fences ..take a little less off the top but squeeze em with conditions .Gamble but how big of a gamble?

Zucc would be worth what....a 2nd and like nichushkin whose basically a bust?

I'll take this deal and roll with it. Even if we don't hit either condition it's not a rip-off.

Likelihood of two firsts aside, people act like JG is the only one trying to get an edge through a trade.

He isnt going to "win" every trade when any other GM who is willing to play ball has different assets and cap space to work with.

Disgusted.

Neither of those conditions will be met. One of my favorite players on the team moved fot a 2nd and 3rd thst will likely never reach the level Zuccarello hit.

Yea but doesn't this essentially mean that Dallas definitely only views him as a rental, guaranteeing a 3rd rounder as a loss? Could you really see them losing an unprotected 1st resigning Zuccy in the offseason?

So most likely we got a late 2nd, and a 3rd.

How are people feeling better about this after seeing those conditions? Am I missing something here? That **** ain't happening lol

I knew other GM's would use Webster as leverage

We were never sniffing their top prospects for a rental that has only played great for a month and a half or so.

2nd and a B/C level prospect was always the expectation (which is what a 3rd is), PLUS there is upside here.

Again, was commenting on saying they would take a conditional #3 over any of their prospects

It’s a little low value wise IMHO if you ignore the conditions, but that’s the problem those conditions aren’t likely to be met. How many of you would be happy if I gave you $1000 for your car with the condition I’d make it $100,000 if I win the lottery.
