Wow he was a 5th round pick, when did Dallas/Fans release they had drafted such a talent?
He's pretty much improved each and every year since first joining the Stars.
Hell, after his first full season with Dallas he immediately jumped to the Stars' AHL team - because at the time Dallas was nowhere near the playoffs
- and he had a monster playoff run with Texas. Didn't win the Calder Cup that year but it was just a sign of things to come with Jamie.
Adding Seguin to the team was what helped trigger Benn's catapult into the upper echelon of NHL players. That is not to say Seguin alone is responsible for Benn's performance, but he's definitely made a positive impact both on and off the ice alongside the Stars' captain.
I still think a 100-point season is attainable for Jamie Benn, hopefully he recovers well enough from the surgery and dominates again next season. Tops in total points over the last two years, here's hoping that trend continues.
