You could convince me of that in the case of Carolina. That was a shock to him. He didn't want to be traded from Colorado, so that reasoning doesn't work there. Purely my speculation but I would hope Carolina would get a sense of which teams he'd be interested in before spending that much time negotiating.

Stankoven isn't a bottom 6 player, though. He's a 22 year old rookie, who's at 0.5 PPG at the moment. Necas was about the same in his 22-23 year old season. Rantanen in his rookie season had 38 points in 75 games. Yeah, he was 1 year younger, but a rookie season is a rookie season, and Rantanen was 6'4 not 5'8...

What I don't get is how Rantanen isn't getting shit on for playing f***ing lazy the whole game and everyone was up in arms when it came to PLD. I think what Rants is doing in CAR is absolutely worse then what PLD did in Columbus.

Why? Rantanen got traded somewhere he didnt want to be. Don't like it? Maybe check in with a player before you trade for them

590 TO guys saying a framework for the trade to Dallas is in place but Rantanen won’t commit to a contract. That could be money but it also could be he doesn’t know enough about living in Dallas. Maybe he prefers the colder winter climates? Both Carolina and Dallas just aren’t where he prefers to live?
