Was definitely his worst game but his best wasn't a whole lot better. He had a game where he was first star but it was a token gesture because he scored his first goal.
Yeah it sucks that you guys traded Necas for him but you guys got to get something useful for him cause Rantanten clearly doesn't want to play in CAR and his attitude and play on the ice shows it quite clearly.

Oh boohoo. There are ways to work around the tax issue, just like Matthews has in Toronto. It’s funny how this was NEVER brought up when the Panthers were irrelevant for 20 years. Or when the Lightning were bad. It’s not taxes fault as to why a player would rather play in Florida than Montreal or Edmonton.

Players can no longer play where they would prefer, as taxes is always at the forefront if they choose certain cities. God forbid a player wants to play for an organization like the Panthers, who are one of the best run teams in the league, with all the best amenities and great weather. The nerve of them.
It only applies bc of the salary cap. Alos those teams had incompetent ownership/management.

Dallas can go get Prime Gretzky they still ain’t winning anything with Lybushkin in that D core. As a Leaf fan fan I’ve seen two stints of him and he’s trash

Still not convinced this deal goes through

It's entirely relying on that extension. Not a great sign it isn't done yet but still some time. Rantanen's camp is negotiating from a position of power for sure - dangerous spot for the Stars to be in

It'll make me sad if Stankoven goes, but there's no scenario where we manage to keep him in a deal like this. This trade may end up defining Nill's career if it gets done. He's never gone truly big like this

What I don't get is how Rantanen isn't getting shit on for playing f***ing lazy the whole game and everyone was up in arms when it came to PLD. I think what Rants is doing in CAR is absolutely worse then what PLD did in Columbus.
Yeah, I don't really care what advanced stats say. Rantanen relies on his center heavily, he's not the play driver on his line. Definitely not a $12m+ guy.

Re; "given no warning"; considering the Aho interview it's clear Rantanen's "completely blindsided"-comment was just lip-service.
He knew a trade was a possibility. Probably hoped a re-signing would happen, but still must have been informed either by his agent or read between the lines in a meeting with CMac that a trade could happen.
He absolutely knew it was a possibility. But he also felt they hadn't really even started negotiating when the trade happened and that took him by surprise. Meet at the exit rather than meet in the middle like.
