Many people actually like Ottawa as a city, it's a great place to live. However Melnyk is driving loyal players away. Look at Alfredsson, Spezza, Karlsson, Stone, etc. Heck even Turris didn't want to sign with them when the team was actually doing very well.

hell of a trade for Ottawa i'm realy jealous. Brannstrom is exacly what Montreal needs, make you wonder if we could have had him instead of Suzuki in the offseason. Don't get me wrong i love suzuki but Brannstrom would have been the dream trade.

We have a bit of a logjam at LD but Wolanin looks like a future top 4 D as well... he is a yr older than Niku but has outproduced him at AHL & NHL level so far. I think he could put up close to 30 pts from the blueline as early as next season. Jaros (LD) and Lajoie (RD) could form a very solid bottom pairing duo, too... Jaros, especially, has #4D upside I believe.... huge, strong, physical & an extremely strong skater
