Slovenia has only a few hundred registered hockey players. Its actually mindblowing how good their players are. They also beat Slovakia 2 times at the Olympics

I was just looking at where they play now, but if they had accrued other time in those leagues in past seasons, then that's true

IMO they really did what they could, much better team, in terms of quality, is going to win. But they still look very good before the Kazakh game which is going to be key.

Well, czechs respond and get the job done, not sure about this team but the tournament this year is more forgiving.

One thing I can say for sure after this game, even half of it, Kazakhstan is in trouble.


It is a popular activity, it isn't a popular sport as in the form of entertainment. Same with skiing. There is a difference.

It is in France, Italy, Spain etc.

Slovenia has some 2 million people. European champions in Basketball, silver in volleyball. Have played in the soccer World cup. 2 great cyclists, great in winter sports. Have played in the olympics in ice hockey with so few players and produced Kopitar.

Jalonen should just leave, we are playing worst hockey in history under him, it absolutely unwatchable and we have historic loses against countries we never had any problem with. Even winning bronze last year, we were absolutely horrible and he refused Vrana Svozil and Galvas what the f?

Yep, he refused guy, who was fired in Detroit, never impressed in national team and had personal issues throught the season, and two guys who nobody saw playing all the year. What a sin…

True, when I saw it at the start of 3rd period, I was like "wtf Sobotka in 1st line, another stupid choice", but suprisingly it worked lol.
