GDT: Czechs vs Slovenia

Kari Jalonen is not a super good coach. He got Finns to the final yes but that was also one of the better teams we have ever had in this tournament and failed to win gold.

Well Gračnar needs to play the game of his life from this point on.

I'm always curious how coaches feel in situations like that. When they seemingly have a chance against the big team but are kinda stuck with the backup in the net.

That is a beautiful team.. also notice the Finn's were using AHL players on the verge of becoming stars. Czechs refuse to bring those and bench them instead.

I think he's a good coach but I think he was saved by Pasta coming last year... he had a very stacked roster with a lot of our best on best guys on it... Pasta, Krejci, Cervenka, Hertl, Vrana, Hronek, Vejmelka and Kampf.

But his results (without Pasta) have been bad. 2 historic losses in 2 years and now we are in a lot of trouble in this game. Of course, neither goal was the fault of Jalonen.. own goal and an awful goal but the Slovenians were all over us and had a lot of chances. This isn't that game where you outshot your opponent 25 to 2 and you are losing. We are losing the gameplay to my eye.

This, i would just fire anyone from defense expecially Jordán, except Kempny and insert Svozil and Galvas to lineup, at least they can carry puck from D zone and can skate.

I hope the Czechs can bounce back. I think last year you guys had success just because you had a much stronger team.. idk what is going on this year.

If this is how Slovenia is going to play the rest of the way they need to get 3rd goal somewhere somehow.. No way they can keep the Czechs to 1 goal like this.

PP seems like a good place to start working on that.

There is absolutelly nothing lol, I expected they gonna bite their ass and start playing. ... but its terrible as f***

Now Slovenia will get another one in pp and we can throw a towel there

What do you think ... our incompetent staff just left the better players at home for no good reason

We brought our EHT team and had a heavy focus on Extraliga guys over SHL, LIIGA, NLA, NHL and AHL guys.

To be fair to Kari.. we are also very injured!

Chytil is out
Sedlak it out
We have had 3 different 1C's in 4 games
Smejkal is playing hurt
Cernoch is playing hurt
Jiricek got hurt in EHT
Chlapik is hurt as well

It's a lot of injuries too! That isn't on Kari.

On Kari is the roster he chose, the goalie rotation he has chosen (and he through our goalie coach under the bus), the deployment and the fact we were the only 'Big 5' nation to close our roster so soon. His reliance on the EHT and watching Extraliga games is obvious. Personally, I'd take maybe 5 guys from Extraliga... Sedlak is an obvious one.
