Czech prospects update thread

I'm hoping for Hrabal and Sale to be first rounders and 10 guys in total. We will see.

Sale at 20 is good and I think Seattle is a great landing spot for both of them! That could work out real nice. I don't like the straight to OHL rumour though. Maybe till Xmas, WJ's and then AHL?

Nonetheless, only 1 guy in round 1. Slovaks have 5 in last 2 years and we have 3. Happy for them but was hoping we could have had 2.

I expect Hrabal's name very early today. I expect Dvoraks name too as tall D were moving up in the rankings. After that, anywhere from 4 to 8 guys.

One more thng.. that Parik draft had Blumel and Rousek after him. So not a bad draft as both are in NA on contracts and close to NHL.

The Hajek draft gave us Hronek! It was an awful draft class but god bless Hronek!

Vrana draft gave us Pasta!

Faksa draft gave us Hertl!

Kostalik draft gave us Kubalik!

So those dud drafts did give us some good players!

I also think, that Dvorak is going to be terrific bottom pair defenseman. Big size, great skater, physical and very strong, remind me a little bit of Cernak.

Last 2 drafts and I highlighted the guys I think have a 80% chance of NHL... ask me about Alscher and Hamara after this year's U20! I could see guys like Brabenec, Chmelar, Rysavy and Kos cracking out bottom 6 careers. I know nothing about Tomas Machu... nothing.

8 and 9 guys taken. So 10 would be a big deal this year. Got 1 so far.haha

I still think Petr will make it and we actually have a history of our last Czech taken making it.. Palat, O. Kase and Kubalil!

I also think this is a very strong goalie class. Even some undrafted Czech goalies may appear in AHL in a few years.

and, again, a Slovak beat us.. Gajan at 35! First 2 goalies this year were Slovak and Czech. First 2 D last year were Slovak and Czech!

He is a big boy who was taken earlier than expected. Top 100 is a surprise, in fact, if he didn't get drafted I would've been less surprised.haha

Decent offence, great size. Developing in Switzerland. Usually on line 2 for the Czech teams. Hope they get him to CHL.

I'd say a future bottom 6 player if he makes it but not guarantee he does.

Well with the draft taking place in just a day, here are my predictions. E.Sale top 20 M.Hrabal top 32 J.Dvorak top 45 Don't expect anybody else to crack the top 100 unfortunately. With the later rounds, I think Stancl, Felcman and Petr are the most likely ones to get picked. Koci, Matecha are...

Slovakia currently at 6 guys.. really nice draft for them.

We;re at 5 now in round 4.

No Swiss or Germans so far.

Also, with Dvorak in top 100.. that is some nice D in the pipe.. last year we had Jiricek, Alscher and Hamara in first 100. So that's 4 D in top 100 in 2 drafts. We also have Svozil and Spacek floating around.

It's not great, but it's improving! Hlinka squad has some great ones and Badinka is floating around too!

Still, welcome to the Hawks (who seemingly love drafting Czechs)... nice surprise.

Not bad.. 5 guys. That 2018 draft looked so promising but Kaut, Jenik, Skarek (sounds like Varlamov is resigning) are all in trouble. Zadina probably being traded (they picked up Yamamoto) and I have no idea what is happening with Filip Kral.
