I'm in the same boat with vacations. There's so many games I want to play early next year that I'm thinking I take a vacation in mid April just to play games. On top of Cyberpunk, you have Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, both within a couple weeks of each other. I know Trine 4 got announced for around the same time, there was something else I remember really wanting to play that also got announced around the same time that I'm drawing a blank on right now. I never played FF7 but really liked what I saw in the remaster, but that one will definitely wait for me.
I keep hearing good things about that original vampire game but I feel like I missed it like I missed KOTOR. I tried KOTOR recently; the controls were so rough I couldn't get passed the intro mission... I just don't have the patience (or time) anymore. I guess I like more action oriented RPGs, if I can refine my favorite type of game (tied with strategy games that are slower, ideally turn based).

Surprised it's coming so soon, although I'm sure there will be delays. The Witcher 3 was delayed multiple times IIRC. I guess now they'd have more hype/resources after that game's success which would make it less likely, but CDPR seem like perfectionists.

I’m pretty confident they’ll hit the release date. Every other time they talked about the game and the release date before they said they would only discuss it when it was ready and they were sure theyd hit it. Iirc Jason Schreier said they wanted fall 2019 but it wouldn’t work so they delayed to April 16, 2020.

This game is going to be soooo long. Going to be pretty awesome, but man, I don't know if I'll ever be able to do more than one play through.

I'd wouldn't be surprised that after CP2077 and a few expansions we'll get another Witcher universe game.

I'm fine with no more Witcher. I'd rather they focus on other IPs, the Witcher had a great run and ended perfectly.

I agree.

While I certainly wouldn't complain about more Witcher content (especially more Thronebreaker-style adventures - big fan), I'm actually hoping CDPR gets more into new IP...or at least, new-to-them IP.

That said, I suppose there's no reason they couldn't do both?

We know they are working on an unannounced game slated for 2021 and when asked if it was a new IP, CDPR said "we have two IPs: Witcher and Cyberpunk, we don't work on anything else right now"

A disappointing answer from a creative standpoint but a sound business decision.

Making a brand new IP is very tough and time consuming, you see new projects get canned all the time. Not very often do you see companies working on 2 brand new IPs at once. Rockstar has had GTA and RDR, Naughty Dog has Uncharted and TLOU, Blizzard has stuck with WoW, Diablo, and Starcraft as their main IPs for awhile until Overwatch, etc.

Cyberpunk has been in the works for like 7 or more years already; albeit not into full go development until like 2016, but even that is based on a tabletop game so it has a lot of information to work with already. Making another Witcher game as you said is a great business decision, it wouldn't be Geralts story as I'm pretty sure they said they were down with his story after Blood and Wine.

Obviously a heavily speculated idea would be to have a Ciri starred Witcher game, which I would be all in for - well I'll be all in for anything Witcher, but would love it to be Ciri focused.

From the sounds of it (during a call with investors earlier this year), it seems like their next game will on a smaller scale and much more experimental than the Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk.

I'd love a return to a smaller scale game. I'm personally not a huge fan of open world anyway. I'd rather smaller hubs with tons of detail and side quests that you can spend hours exploring the nooks and crannies.

I may have to buy whatever game console this is on just to experience this game. I love the aesthetic and world.

PS4, XBOX ONE and PC.

It will almost certainly be on PS5 and whatever the next XBOX is called as well, both of those are most likely launching next fall/winter. So you'd have to wait longer for those versions, and it might take them some time to bring the game over to those systems as well (could be 2021).

I feel like neither of these things is entirely accurate or has been demonstrated.

You can read up on the "trans woman with a **** ad" controversy. It basically is internet drama (ie: you will only meet people who care, either way, online) but it certainly reverberated far and wide within the industry: the person who made the in-game poster even had to speak up about it.

On a similar topic, CDPR felt the need to address talk of "crunch" and attributed the game shipping in 2020 rather than 2019 due to it. The drama is drummed up by a very vocal minority but it is being addressed by those targeted. Is it being truthfully addressed? Hard to say.

Cyberpunk 2077 Weapon Proficiency Feature Will Affect Animations

Senior Level Designer Miles Tost explained that using a weapon in Cyberpunk 2077 increases its proficiency. This increases accuracy, reloading speed, and possibly more. Additionally, these adjustments, incremental though they may be, will also affect the character’s animations. One example Tost provided is that reloading animations will become “smoother” over the course of the experience. Consequently, players will feel as though they’re constantly progressing.

Seems to be a step down graphically from last years video, hopefully this is just running the console version.

The demo was too choppy to get a lot out of tbh, would have liked to see another longer gameplay video like last time.
