I have to side with the take of "response is too salty by half" (strictly strategically speaking...I have no take on the ethics of either side) because...
....the most successful billionaires in the world are used to being called corrupt (whether they are or not) and by forces far stronger than whoever these Tempe 1st people are. It's an "act like you've been there" sorta thing. By dignifying this much, he looks less like a successful businessman and more like someone desperate to defend the idea that he's a successful businessman.
It's like Tyson Fury dignifying a rando in the gym who says he can't box. Why risk an injury on that?...it makes the rando look like they had more of a point that they actually had.
That said, I don't envision it affecting the ballot an iota because all signs have been that it will pass. But then again, I'm not on the ground.
