Not sure - he's already arguably BC's best player, even with Leonard, Smith and Perreault being there.

Not liking the impressions that he is leaving… floater… powerful but not ornery…?

He plays with older prospects and it sounds like he prefers to have worker bees on his line, but that would also apply to players like Zegras. Maybe we target some of those types this draft…. Guys like Ridly Greig, who sadly we passed on. Or we need to sign some UFAs that hustle like A Lafferty type.

I'm kind of inbetween right now. He's certainly good and woth promising tools but idk how fast he'll be able to make an impact in the NHL

Hopefully we will have plenty for our playmaking line drivers (Terry, Leo, Zegras) and he can pot 35+ a season and provide a semi-physical/fore-checking complementary game for our playmakers. The absolute nightmare would be a PLD type that relies on his tools and doesn't care to turn his motor on. I don't see that happening, I actually think the whole Philly thing will give him extra motivation and glad everyone is chirping him about it.

I agree on him being a passenger. The good thing is though I think we have enough drivers to make up for it. If he can find himself open to use his shot, I think we will be more than happy.

We may actually need passengers at some point... keeps the cost of their contracts down a little and less guys that have to have the puck on their stick to make their game work. Z, Carlsson, Terry, and Mac are already guys that are better when they have the puck. I could see Mac work as a winger (in the offensive zone at least) with Carlsson or Z playing off the puck and setting up for a shot. He's just shown that he has more to his game than that, though.

With Mac, Carlsson, and Z capable of playing center, all we need are high end, scoring passengers. That said, Cutter is still a prospect and we don't know what we have at the NHL level. Cutter might be an amazing fit. I hope that's the case.

To echo what others are saying, a team where every forward needs the puck on their stick to be effective isn’t a good thing and doesn’t work. Already have enough of those. We desperately need this type of “passenger” who can finish. He the scorer who you watch that doesn’t necessarily dominate games and can be invisible at times but at the same time quietly seem to always score

You can't score goals if everyone is just passing it over and over like hot potato. The team needs Forwards and Dmen willing to shoot. Zellwegers first game he shot the puck on powerplay without over passing around and it turned into an assist. Cutter will be more shooter on the PP as well.
One powerplay unit can have Gauther, another can have Mctavish. A Shooter on each PP.
