That's probably the MISSED DINNER they failed to give him that they gave Shane Wright.
And I think this meeting is probably going to be a makeup for that.
I'm sure before they were like "Slafkovsky? meh. Who cares." so they did the bare minimum.
Now that interest is high on Slaf, they're all like "Slaf, my man! Have a seat! Do you like Steak? "
The Habs probably ran the numbers, Slafkovsky is so big that the potential cost of the dinner became prohibitive.

EDIT : Of course there's no trade talks. The only ones that WANT bratt to be traded are opposing team's fans that would love to have him on their team, and trolls here who want him gone because of me.

I wouldn't have a major issue with Cooley, but he'd be 4th of my list behind Wright, Slaf, and Nemec.

Good to hear that Yegor is still in the U.S. and did not go back to Belarus.
Cooley would be adding another playmaking Center, Wright at least would give us a different type of center as he's more of a shooter with a great shot.

Talent is talent. If they feel that Cooley is the best or second best talent in the draft, that's fine. I don't have to agree with it be accepting of it. There's a pretty thin margin separating these guys and there are certainly people who think Cooley is the best or will be the best player in this draft when all is said and done. I can totally understand why they would feel that Cooley is the best / second best player in this draft.

So basically, in your opinion, any guy not named Slaf (except for Wright I’d imagine), wouldn’t be a good pick?The fact that he's not Slaf.
Fitz's shirt is a bit loud. It's sort of the worst of all shirt worlds. It's too loud and informal for a shirt you'd wear with a jacket but it's too structured (and I bet too expensive) to be a truly comfortable summer shirt. That said, I'm glad he has a long term view of the team and he isn't panicked.
Edit: it's a Vineyard Vines shirt which is ok but probably overpriced for what it is. The performance shirts are much better in my view than the cotton ones.

I think some of us feel that Slaf is going to be an earth-shattering player on the ice, better than the rest. No knock on the others as I'll still be thrilled to have Wright or Cooley to select from.

I 100% agree with this. Slaf is my pick, but I wouldn’t be mad if the scouting department thinks otherwise.
