I think I mentioned this, but we tried a non-traditional Thanksgiving last year where I cooked lamb on the Big Green Egg. As I pulled it off the grill I couldn't resist and took one bite as I walked back into the house with the lamb. I didn't chew well enough and the lamb got stuck in my esophagus (Steakhouse syndrome) and I was done for the night and absolutely miserable. It took until the next day after drinking a coke that the problem was resolved. What a shitty 12 hours though.

We're sticking with Turkey this year.

Not saying this is what happened to this poster, but I've fallen victim to clicking on a thread from the main board of a team (as it shows up on the right if it has the last post in that subgroup) and asking a question only to be told there's a thread on it. It's my own fault though as I should just go to their forum and see if there's a thread, but I've been bit by that before.
That’s what happened. Just an honest mistake. I’m glad @WreckingCrew was able to sort me out. Thanks again guys!

Can we please at least just try Statsny on the 1st line with Aho and Necas??? Again…..he has 800 career points and he’s not as slow as people make him out to be.

Or are we going to keep trying to make 1st line Noesen work forever until Patches or Turbo come back? He is a 4th liner that’s it. Would be great with Drury and Stepan.

I keep a Tonic water or club soda close by when eating the heavier meats, helps quite a bit. This problem gets worse as we get older.

That's just not true, he's just as slow as people make him out to be.

I don't mind trying him up there though. Noesen is a grinder that creates havoc. Stastny is a smart player who who lives off of being in the right place at the right time.

He’s made a pretty good career out of someone supposedly slow.

Just don’t understand Rod’s love for Noesen at all. I don’t get it.

I can confirm a bone-in ribeye is not overrated on Thanksgiving if you want/need a change-up on occasion from the traditional stuff. Otherwise I enjoy the usual with an extra bowl of gravy (rare treat).

1) He's never been fast, but his skills and smarts allowed him to be a very good NHLR.
2) he's now 36 and even slower.

How can you watch him and not see that he's slow? It's not "supposedly", he is slow. Like I said though, he has a lot of other positive attributes that has allowed him to succeed.

My "guess" is that he wants a physical presence on that line since they get manhandled a lot, thus Noesen. I'd rather see Svech on that line personally as I don't think Noesen is the best option. I'm fine if they try Stastny there.

We usually do the bone-in rib roast on Christmas Eve.

I like a traditional thanksgiving Dinner though. Probably it's more nostalgia than the taste, but I like it.

My brother in law wanted to make a couple picanhas, but my sister vetoed him. They're hosting, but I'll be making the turkey since I get one for free from my employer.

Sometimes we fry a turkey injected with garlic, Texas Pete, and a concoction of other herbs and spices. It’s legit! We just ensure we don’t make YouTube videos under the category of “turkey fry fails” 🔥 💥 ☠️ 🏥

Haha, we've been there too. A few years back my BIL deep fried a couple large chickens for Thanksgiving. We pulled one out just fine, but the second one fell apart as we were lifting it. We spent the next several minutes fishing for pieces of chicken with tongs, trying to avoid burning ourselves on the still hot grease.

Turkey is absolutely overrated but I put a breast on the smoker every year, mainly because Southern dressing is too damn good to pass up. Also making some venison jerky and some smoked cheese while it's fired up. We always had a deer loin or some other thing from our jaunts in the woods or water on Thanksgiving,

I'd like to see some PP anything tonight. Seriously.
