You must be basing this comments on your whatever video game your playing but here’s a some facts..
at 23 Drew Doughty was in the top 2 or 3 Dman in the NHL.. if not the best which Jakob isn’t
- he was one of two Stanley Cups into his career and could have been the MVP though itv also could have gone to Kopitar or the winner Quick..
- had 184 pts compared to Jakob
- was a 4x all star

so tell me again how they are even remotely comparable? Don’t worry ill wait while you type up another laughable response..
Interesting choice of "facts"
Going into Doughty's 23 year old season He was considered a top 20 defenseman, definitely not guaranteed #2/3 though. He wasn't even nominated for Norris the year prior and was overall coming off a pretty mediocre age 22 season (for his standards). Chychrun going into this year was also considered a top 20 defenseman leaguewide and was 8th in Norris voting at 22.
- He was a core member of a Stanley cup winning team (not really relevant as Chychrun has never played for a contender and 1 player does not make a team a contender by any means)
- He had 162 points in 316 games over 4 seasons, that's 0.53 ppg. Chychrun had 121 points in 290 games over 5 seasons (some shortened), that's 0.42 ppg. (remember not on a contender)
- being a 4x All Star doesn't mean anything as we are talking about who they are going into their 23 yo system, Chychrun was an All Star last year.

This season has been a very clear outlier from his norm, that usually happens when you are the only 1st line caliber player on a team.

You are a Canucks fan right? Pettersson has been awful this year would you say he is a middle 6 center at best because of his performance this season? Or would you consider this season an outlier?
The best season of Chychrun's career is still not Doughty caliber. There is more to the game than being a point compiler. Did you start watching hockey 2 years ago? Get off hockeyDB.

These two players should not be mentioned in the same sentence.

Without even commenting on the quality of that offer....

Chychrun is a LD and doesn't fit with the Canucks needs at all. Hughes and OEL aren't going anywhere any time soon.

Handedness isn’t something that’s stops you from going for a player of this caliber.
One of Hughes, OEL, or Chyc could easily move to the right.

You do realize Chychrun is a very solid 2-way defenseman right? Who said anything about only points? If you want to argue Fox is like 23 year old Doughty then sure but Fox is only a bit better than Chychrun so Chychrun is not far off 23yo Doughty at all by any means

It's ironic that Detroit would be involved since the Coyotes swapped the Chychrun-Cholowski picks in 2016 with Detroit to take the remainder of the Datsyuk cap hit. So bad. Though I guess the Wings got the Hronek pick too.

True. The Ken Holland era.

LA can easily give a good offer. Blake stated in the summer that they are looking to make splash with a #1 LHD by start of 2022 season

-2022 1st
-One of Turcotte or Vilardi
-One of the many top 6 forwards in the pipeline OR one of Bjornfot/Anderson
Not enough. Needs to be an AMAZING offer.

Doughty was 3rd in defensive scoring in his sophomore year and a Norris finalist in his sophomore year. Then made the Olympics team, he was higher than top 20 at like 20 years old, let alone 23.

2 x firsts Robertson Amirov. We are set on d for years.

Rielly Brodie
Chychrun Sandin
Muzzin Liljegren
Niemela
Offer does not move the needle for me. 1sts will be 25 or later. Robertson is tiny. Amirov is a good prospect but not great. As for the D being set for years I expect you would have to include Sandin and Liljegren/Niemela in the trade.
