So it looks like some guys wearing our unis are getting swamped 5-0 somewhere in Texas right now... can you imagine if hockey was like baseball? 162 games a year?

Ivan Prosvetov basically gave up the farm. That dude's career in North America looks about over.
It's pretty normal these days for pre-season home team rosters to be significantly stronger than visiting team rosters. This is especially true right now with our entire NHL roster in Australia.

I didn't watch the game. I don't know how Prosvetov played, but I'm guessing you don't either. So to extrapolate this pre-season game out to the rest of his career is a bit silly.

In Dallas yesterday, Ivan gives up 7 on 50 shots against. Not great.

Giving up 7 goals on 50 shots is incredible great goaltending if those 50 shots were PS-level chances. I didn't watch either, but something tells me some of them were.
they might have all been 2-0 breakaways for Dallas with the Yotes going for a change at the same time

I agree… he showed last season when he played with the Yotes that he is prone to giving up a lot of goals in any given game. That said , the Yotes big problem in 23-24 is absolutely going to be shots against. write it down!

7 goal on 50 shots isn’t awful. We have no idea how he looked doing it.

50 shots on goal total. Prosvetov had 22 saves on 26 shots (.846 SV%) and was replaced with Matt Villalta who allowed 3 goals on 24 shots (.875%).

Looks like he was outplayed by Villalta a bit, but neither were able to make up for the rest of the team's mistakes.

When I first looked at the game stats Prosvetov had given up 4 goals and his SV% was below .800, so from context he was able to get under control a bit after a very rough start.

But I say his career is looking iffy because this isn't an outlier based on a sub-AHL roster or team effort. His stock has cratered over the past two seasons and this performance is not doing a thing to rehabilitate it.
