Yup I've been thinking this too. When Chayka was an assistant, or even when Tippett was his boss he had to compromise on the roster. I remember Tippett liking analytics but still valued the eye test. It was a good balance. Not advocating for Tippett sticking around, but the idea of Chayka having to compromise was much better then what we ended up with.
He was in over his head, got the reins to an entire team way too soon. He thought he was the smartest person in the league. We had no balance and even Nash politely called our 2019/20 team soft.
After last night I'm also wondering how Tocchet will do with a much more balanced roster. I don't like him, but if we play every game like we did the 2nd and 3rd last night it will be hard to complain about him.
