Not a fan of McLeod, or his brother. He is Perlini without the shot. So just a great skater.

Oilers have Matej Blümel, leads the Czech league in U21 scoring. His rights plus a dump like Larsson works.

We are tied for ninth in GF/GP with 3.4 goals per game. Edmonton's high powered offense with two generational centers and Hall of Fame head coach is tied for 24th with 2.5 goals per game.

Let's just give Bush, Capo, and Soderstrom some games before we go crazy lol

Hopefully by the deadline, we're comfortable enough with the younger guys to just dump the veteran UFA's and not worry too much about it. If not, we can still ship guys out, we'll just have to add some bandaids.

Goose should sit a game. Send a message. But I'm not too worried about he or Demers for that matter. We're five games in with no preseason.

Still stuck in Forum 40
OEL - Hammer
Chychrun - Soderstrom
Oesterle - Bushy
Capo

trade Demers and Goligoski away and see how these guys do post trade deadline
Trade the rentals as soon as you get a good offer. Sometimes you need to showcase the impeding UFAs instead of giving ice time to the others. It's about the future and asset management.

There is a huge difference between Soderstrom having a good debut and throwing him into a top-four, eat 20 minutes role.

We will get there but we are not there now. Get OEL back, get Bush’s paperwork sorted out, and see if everyone is healthy at that point. Then re-evaluate.

I think they would have been shipped out in the summer if there were good offers. Hjalmarsson was the only one that had a market but he used his NTC. I expect that all of them will be marketable at the trade deadline when cap space is less of a challenge.

Wow.
When Edmonton got McDavid they had issues at D and G. Years later and they have issues at D, G, and wing. So yes. Please extend RNH for big $ while ignoring those issues that are likely going to cause the best player in the game to demand a trade.

it’s hilarious.

and the asset that they could have used to get Keumper they refused. To draft a Center. That organization is stupid by design.

Kind of funny how I kept hearing the Oilers had all this money coming off the books this summer, but the only contracts of note are RNH, Larsson, and Barrie. That's almost 14 million bucks but they're still going to need to replace those guys. Especially the D, and it's not going to be easy to replace a pair of top-4 D for the current 8 million.

I will look this up in a little bit unless someone beats me but we have to be one of the teams that will have the most cap, with the least amount of true assets being exposed going into the expansion draft. I was excited to see how Chayka would navigate it but have more faith in BA doing so. RNH would be one of those pieces I hope we at least take a look at. Revamping the blueline has to be the top priority though.

Yeah we won’t lose anything of value to Seattle.

I would not pay what RNH will want in UFA.

Intrigued to see what Army can do with some real cash.

Adam Larsson only played 14 minutes tonight, the least of any Edmonton D. And 8 minutes less than Barrie!

If you play around with the expansion tool on CapFriendly, the piece we will likely lose is one of:

Larsson
Pitlick
Fischer
Capo
Oesterle
Hill

That’s with one protection slot remaining at both forward and D. I’d probably just hope they take Pitlick.

I protected:

Keller
Schmaltz
Dvorak
Kessel (NMC)
Crouse
Garland

OEL
Chychrun

Kuemper

So then add Capobianco and one of Fischer/Larsson.
