Using your own brain doesn't make you a sheep or a pawn of the government.

In fact those that purposely display behaviors just for the sake of being contrary to "rules" are just as sheep-like if not more so as that behavior is myopic in their appraisal of the situation as well.

Yeah, the people who say that normally are pretty sheep-like, just for a different ethos.

Whenever I hear "kool-aid" or "sheep" it's a lark.

I've already decided I am going to do whatever the hell I want based on the fact that they are doing whatever the hell they want as well.

We don't and shouldn't stoop to the level of political leaders... we can use our own brains and be better than that... we all don't have to act at the level of the least sensible and most hypocritical among those in society.

I mean, you go for it, but I'm not on board any longer. I won't be spending time with people in my sphere who are vulnerable, and will be taking proper precautions, but I sure won't be having family dinners over zoom chat like I had to this weekend, and I'll be out and about way more now. Sorry, but I am not shutting my life down while large numbers of others get to do whatever they want. Not happening.

Lizard people are a myth.

It's the crab people you have to worry about.

I can understand your anger/frustration and I knew there would be people who would respond this way after continually seeing leaders that are hypocritical and often idiotic (do what I say not what I do)... but as a society we still have to try and protect the vulnerable among us so thank you for at least being careful and taking precautions going forward and realizing that others could get sick and die from this if a large segment of society starts disregarding social distancing and takes a "don't give a shit anymore" attitude.

Personally some people that are close to me have probably about a 1 in 6 chance of dying if they get this virus so I really don't have the option of saying to hell with it and disregarding social distancing and stop being as careful as I can be. I've got to hope that the large majority of people out there feel the same way because the most vulnerable in society will pay the ultimate price until they develop a vaccine for this virus (or at least very effective treatments for those that come down with covid-19).

Fast forward to three weeks later when he's about to be admitted to the hospital because he can't breathe: "We have to take this seriously, folks!"

If I were the government I would come up with some projects those that choose to flaunt the rules could do instead of just sunning themselves like the Florida Spring Break idiots.

Since you are out anyway... fill some potholes or pick up some litter along ditches etc... do something useful for society when you are out there if you choose to disregard the social distancing rules.

A convenient scapegoat for the dipshit president.

Trump f***ed up big time with his denials

but the WHO are just as responsible for this outbreak

Yes, been down this road in earlier threads and agree with both of you. The WHO does need to be investigated to see what happened when, with respect to the virus. The American people get to decide what happens to their current President in November.

It will be telling how this virus behaves when countries like Australia/New Zealand/South Africa in the Southern Hemisphere are now going into their fall/winter months... and we'll see if that results in higher numbers of infections/deaths as those countries have done relatively well so far in the summer/early autumn.
