Ontario is seriously thinking about implementing a curfew

lol there's no thinking about it. It's coming in a week or two and probably even before that. They already knew this a long time ago but anyone with half a brain can see that they are slowly introducing each step to ease us into it. First the masks, then the social distancing, then the lockdowns, then the curfew and then whatever they have planned after that. It goes a lot easier that way because as we get used to each step we eventually accept. But going from masks to curfew overnight is too much chaos and pushback/non-compliance. So they are easing us into it. They already know what the end game is here, and knew it a long time ago.

Just remember:

Masks would not be necessary
then Lockdowns would not be implemented
then Ontario was not considering curfews

and...Vaccines will not be mandatory

...end game.

I don't remember that being the order at all.

First thing was lockdowns with a recommendation to distance followed months later by a mask mandate.

Vaccines are not mandatory at all.

Sadly though,, it does feel like they are heading towards curfews

not until they claim that 75% of the country refuses.

then what

I still don't think it will be.

Private business might not allow anyone who doesn't get vaccinated into their premises but it's a big jump for the government to make it law.

Even now in schools they try to threaten to remove your child if they are not vaccinated but they can't and will relent if you push back.

Can’t wait to work all day and not be allowed to go anywhere and get anything done

lol just remember there are people that are looking forward to a curfew and not being allowed to go for a walk alone with no one in sight for miles after 8pm...it's coming though you can bet on it. this situation will me milked to the max

I feel bad for folks stuck in urban areas and who will have trouble going out to enjoy outdoors activities. I’m able to ice fish, hunt spend time outside and nobody would even notice I’m gone. I couldn’t imagine having to work all day and then be told you have to stay inside all night and weekend.

This all sucks. I really do hate it. But feel lucky that everyone I know has stayed healthy.

Could be way worse though. Could be stuck/locked alone in your room in a LTC facility. Intubated in the ICU. Or :skull:

Do you really think the curfew will be that enforced? People still have to go to work at all hours. Transportation will still be running.

If they impose a curfew I just see them closing stores earlier, which as a previous poster mentioned doesn't make a lot of sense as there would just be larger crowds during shorter hours.

Travel for essential work like transportation will be acceptable, from what i read.

If they do impose a curfew, they'll need to make sure that stores are enforcing proper capacity measures in and out of the building. Some are doing this already (ie max number of people allowed in the store at one time), some not at all

well get ready.

first it'll be for 14 days.

Then Friday at 3PM Ford will hold his press conference and extend it for 14 more days.

Then 2 weeks later on Friday at 3Pm, another press conference extending it for 28 more days because well you know.. its the "people's" fault.

Isn't anyone else seeing the patterns here

I see the pattern you're creating, but I am not sold that it a master plan, but more of being naive or not wanting to cause stress and panic.

I don't think any reasonable person ever believed Ford when he said this was goimg to be for 28 days. Once he put that number oit there, he was stuck. It's disingenuous and probably could be called a flat out lie

I am jealous!!

the funny thing is throughout this whole deal, I remember thinking to myself, no way are they ever gonna make us all wear masks. Then I thought ok fine, but lockdowns? no way. Then ok, so even a week or two ago I thought man it must suck to be Australia and have curfews, lucky we don't live there...

that's kind of like 3 strikes right there.

I'm sort of awake now. I'll never think "well at least mandatory vaccines will be impossible"...

Remember, he told us that 15,000 would be dead by last April. They said no masks will be needed, certainly not lockdowns, and no curfews will be necessary.

All of those ended up false.

They are the experts, not us. So they are not stupid. That much is fair to say.

and then... ya wonder why people are skeptical lol.

Are they taking the masks off after the cameras turn off and laughing to eachother, "yeah that should scare them" ?

I imagine the curfew will be announced Monday. No curfew restrictions for the selected elite (public sector, big box, politicians who never obey) of course, just us proletariats. I, for one, am exercising my right to enjoy the empty roads, parking lots and cheap gas while I can. Couldn't even spread the disease during these hours effectively if I were a deranged typhoid Mary. If I haven't had Covid yet I figure I'll almost certainly get it once we're all bottlenecked into a narrow shopping window and then must remain at home for prolonged hours giving us increased opportunity to spread the disease. Might have to increase my vitamin D intake and hand washing in order to help offset a possible government mandated increase to the odds that I contract Covid.

Just to clarify something, there will still be curfews for big box stores, it’s just that their sales won’t be effected by it. People will just shop at their stores online or during the day. It’s the small businesses, like the restaurants doing take out, that will be really hurt by the curfew.

Their operating hours will be subject to restrictions for sure, but they'll still be allowed to continue with overnight stocking, cleaning, receiving deliveries ect.

Yes, it will be business as usual for them. Might actually increase probability as they cut employees hours while their sales continue to increase.

As a shift worker... far more people work through the nights then you expect.

Curfew is useless without a way to stop and I.D people without cause
