Look at the metrics the last 10 games and they look a lot closer to last years team than this years. Bottom 10 in xGF/60, xGA/60, and Shots For/60. They have more skill and finishing ability than last year but they look exactly like they did last year. Turning way too many pucks over which leads to constant defending, chasing the game, and very limited puck possession and scoring chances.

Some of the offensive decline is due to McMichael and Strome cooling off and McMichael looks better at C right now, but he’s just wasted at 3C with Eller and Vrana. Put him back in the top 6 with players that have skill and will at least try to win a puck/board battle (looking at you Vrana).
