Are our shootouts bad enough that we qualify for an emergency recall of Cristall?

(Disclaimer: this is a joke.)

Hi. I apologize for bothering you (I just got home from work so it is pretty much too late anyways to watch the game but)...

How do you watch the Sabres/Caps game?

I have Verizon, but according to the TV listing, the game is on a channel called Monumental Sports. I have cable, but when I go to the website, Verizon is blacked out. So maybe Monumental doesn't come on Verizon Fios?

I don't want to pay $ 200 a year to watch the Sabres a few times.

I used to get hockey, haven't watched in a while.

I don't think I could watch on ESPN+ because it is a local blackout.

Anyways, I've only lived in Gaithersburg for 12 years now, just trying to learn how to watch hockey. I wasn't sure where to post it. I'm an idiot for not being able to figure this out. Thanks.
Monumental Sports is the new version of NBC Sports Washington and the Caps' RSN broadcaster. If you're in the DC market you can watch there on cable. You can also stream it through their website or Roku app by either signing in through your cable or paying I think $200 for the entire season. Be warned though that if you're traveling and want to stream it through Monumental you can't.

ESPN+ will only let you watch any nationally televised games or any out-of-market games. Any in-market games from wherever you are streaming from will be blacked out though.

If you're looking to watch Sabres games in Gaithersburg ESPN+ is your best bet -- you just won't get the 3 a year they play against DC where it's on Monumental. If you're trying to watch Caps games I'd go with Monumental. I often find that a certain google search can find you most games as well if that's your kind of thing ...

Ended in tie game, Sabres got the skills competition for the extra point. Shootouts don't equate to being better in the playoffs, so don't care much. Team didn't play well enough to win in regulation or OT, but stole a point. I'll take it.

Lindgren now 0-3-2 in his last 5 starts. To me that is an issue and we need to start giving LT more starts.

It’s funny, after watching all those shootouts in the WJC that actually had stakes it just felt even more flat watching one in the NHL. Would have been nice to get the extra point, but given how they played a lot of the game they’re lucky to have gotten the one.

Seems like a bit of a mid season slump, but if we survive a mid season slump still getting a little over half of the possible points it’s not the end of the world.

The top line needs Protas and McMichael needs to be on the second line to remain productive. Other formulations are probably stretches. Their overall team play and laziness are just as problematic, if not more so, but those lines are what works. 'Fixing' the third line is something they're going to have to do by other means.

I agree with everything but CL. I don’t care about how bad we are in shootouts either, it shouldn’t be a factor in us making the playoffs so who cares. I’m concerned about our road and 5v5 play. We were so strong with both and now struggling. It happens in a season and we are still getting points, but I hope they figure it out again.

CL was not the issue tonight so while I think he has not had the best season he played well enough to get the win
