I have Ovechkin ranked quite a bit higher than Crosby, I am not so sure Ovechkin is the greatest goalscorer of all time(he is certainly not the best) but atleast an argument could be made based on career(absolutely not for peak).

Brett Hull is underrated but doesn't really match up(although it's certainly closer than most admit), I wouldn't hesitate to say that he might have had Ovechkin beat in terms of goalscoring at his absolute best, but here the "when it's close career decides" clearly applies since it's like 10-15 years vs a handful, also Brett was a worse player than Ovi in pretty much any department except goalscoring at their bests. Crosby vs Brett Hull? Not so sure id rank Crosby above but it's really apples to oranges.

In my world a player can't "compile" above someone with clearly more dominant peak/prime but if two players are somewhat even in terms of peak longveity will decide the outcome, ideally a player have both if they wan't to be in top 10 of all time but Orr-tier excellence can't be trumped by a longer career(Bourque), Crosby lacks the peak to even begin to enter the discussion. There are like 10 Canadian centers with similiar peak, heck there are arguably 4 centers currently in the league that match Crosby for peak.
Wow, so this is an actual opinion? I think I burnt off a few brain cells reading this post.

Seems reasonable now to see Connor hit 120 Points

130 would be impressive.

I agree.

Look, I personally think McDavid is the sport best puck carrier, transition player, passer, drawing penalties and one of the best goal scorers in the sport. He retrieves the puck constantly on the defensive zone and starts the play with the zone exits. The guy creates offense with speed better than anyone in the sport IMO.

He is over 50% on face offs now and needs to improve on the defensive zone but is getting better. I wish he can play both the power play and penalty kill like Barkov of Florida.

The problem with the Oilers is goaltending and depth scoring. Just me.

Even if McDavid gets his projected 118, it will still be a career high for him.

Up to 90 points now with a goal and two assists today against the Devils.

We reach that time of the year when McDavid gives the superstars of this league a little wink and takes of like a cruise missile. He toys with the Art Ross

Pornstar had his few seconds in the spotlight but he's not pulling out of the race that easily

Lol He should win this thing but I'm not so sure he's all that generational when the gap between first and second is only a few points. Some people were projecting him to hit 150 points, which was unrealistic but anything below 120 would be a disappointment considering he's in the prime of his career.

The gap between him and second place is some guy named Leon Draisaitl. Generational German. Last year he blew him away too. What are you talking about ?

Last I checked Jonathan Huberdeau was also tied for second place 4 points behind McDavid. But maybe I'm looking at the wrong year, I dunno you tell me

With two helpers tonight, McDavid just became the 8th player in NHL history to reach 60+ assists in six consecutive seasons:
  1. Adam Oates - six years (1989 to 1994)
  2. Bernie Federko - six years (1981 to 1986)
  3. Bobby Orr - six years (1970 to 1975)
  4. Guy Lafleur - six years (1975 to 1980)
  5. Henrik Sedin - six years (2007 to 2012)
  6. Peter Stastny - six years (1981 to 1986)
  7. Wayne Gretzky - thirteen(!) years (1980 to 1992)
It's incredible that McDavid has kept the streak going despite two of these years being shortened by COVID (and playing in a much lower-scoring league than anyone listed above except Sedin). If McDavid reaches 60 assists next year (seven years in a row), that'll be something that only Gretzky has ever topped.

Note - Oates was on pace to have his streak last ten years (he had 41 assists in 48 games during the 1995 lockout-shortened season). Ron Francis would have also got six years in a row if not for the 1995 lockout.

Huberdeau is having a great year. And is close to McD. But what about last year? And does he repeat next year? Everyone was all over Kucherov for threatening McDs status too, where’s he this year?

The thing that makes McD generational is his ability to be the best player in the League year in and year out.

Odd flex, considering he was out for 30+ games this year?

Now, let's do playoffs!!

Draisaitl is just a product of McDavid, so he really has like 185 points this year.

Next Gretzky confirmed.
