For real though, how crazy is the fact that he is the best canadian hockey player in ages and titled as "The Next One" yet not even the best forward on his team, but beaten by none other than a german hockey player.

Points since McDavid entered the league in 2015-16:

1. McDavid - 601 (421 games)
2. Kane - 546 (464 games)
3. Draisaitl - 528 (455 games)
4. Marchand - 506 (440 games)
5. Panarin - 488 (448 games)

In their last 82 games:

McDavid: 48 goals, 150 points
Kane: 28 goals, 98 points
Draisaitl: 55 goals, 130 points
Marchand: 42 goals, 106 points
Panarin: 29 goals, 106 points

They're just so much better than any other players it's ridiculous.

McDavid's assists alone are on par with anyone besides Draisaitl who he elevates playing on the same line a lot and powerlay almost constantly. On top of that he's almost potting 50 goals. I think this season he has a real shot at hitting 150 just as I predicted before the season he would fall somewhere between 140-150. Seems as though his uptick in scoring last season wasn't due in large part to the crappy North Division afterall.

Where does his 23 game point streak to start the season rank all time? I know Crosby had 25 games in 2010-11 and Sundin had a 30 game streak but I don't think those were from the beginning of the season.

Kane had 26 in 2015.

It’s not actually a 23 game point streak. For some reason people are including going back to last season.

Right now he’s on a 15 game point streak to start this season.

It's literally a 23 game regular season point streak.

Yeah.....with a big ol' offseason in the middle.

You going to count his goals from last season as well?

The poster said it was a "23 game point streak to start the season".

It isn't. Not yet, anyway.

Edmonton hasn't played 23 games this season.

Pretty self-explanatory.

Unofficially yes.

Officially, see here for longest point streaks. McDavid and Terry are on page two if you go by 100 rows at the bottom, with active streaks of 15. 17 games would put him at top 87 all time. Crosby and Kane are the only active players with a top 15 all time point streak, at 25 and 26 games respectively. Knock on wood.

These are the "point streaks to start a season" - where McDavid is already top 20. Terry did not register a point in his first game so he doesn't make this list.

We all couldn't even fathom one player getting close to the 51 point streak. Imagine if two do and McDavid and Terry both battle it out to get it? Doubtful as there is such a long way to go but you never know. lol
