Connor Bedard is -84 throughout two seasons…Worst in the NHL

Eh, that roster isn’t really helping. He’s the only guy out there, not counting Dom Tomato and Turbo! Or whoever the f*** these other jabronis are. Hall was brought in to help, but turns out he only rides tailcoats, so shoot. Dude is gonna be the sole target faced off against top competition every night, ya his stats suck eggs.

I doubt that Bedard wants out of Chicago specifically. I think that he wants out of losing after doing a lot of it in his past five seasons. And he's surely aware that his own play hasn't been good enough this season. Not surprising that he's frustrated.

GM needs to do his job by bringing in a real coach and some real players. I like Vlasic and Nazar, and they've got some other young guys coming along but they need some decent veterans instead of the has-beens and never-beens that Davidson has brought in so far.

You are preaching to the converted. I love the kid and he has a TON of upside.

The Blackhawks left the kid out to dry. They gave him Corey Perry to play with. Nothing else. Now, I love Corey Perry but Perry's an old SLOW players, well past his prime. What did the Blackhawks expect Bedard to do? Unless Bedard was Superman, he was not carrying this AHL team to victory.

Trade for Sid and put Bedard on his wing, then watch Bedard explode.

If Bedard wants to play with Sid, he is going to have to demand a trade to the penguins

Why do you say that?

Chicago has a lot of young prospects. Pittsburgh is going to be a bottom dweller who could use those prospects. Sid doesn't want to play in Pittsburgh when there is nothing to play for.

Trade Sid to Chicago, let him mentor Bedard and then re-sign Sid in Pittsburgh when he wants to retire.

Thank you for that insight, Mr. Mind of Crosby.

So, he would instead demand a trade (no one's moving him without notice) to a rotten cesspool of an organization with plenty of shady history to "mentor" some busting prospect?

Right on, daddyo!

Why would my post make you aggressive?

I am not the only person who has suggested this. If you don't think it's something Sid would do... cool.

Far too early to assume Bedard isn't going to be a superstar. He's still a teenager.

-- He has 121 points in 145 games (68 points / 82 GP), all as a teen, while playing for the 2nd-worst club the past two seasons combined. He's producing points at the same rate that Patrick Kane did his first two seasons, and Kane was older. He's also already producing at the same rate as Nikita Kucherov in his second and third seasons, and Kucherov was two years older.

-- Despite missing games, Bedard has scored 32 more points than any other Black Hawk the past two seasons.

-- From his draft class. he has 64 more points (!) than the second-highest producing player drafted (Zach Benson), in about the same number of games.

-- The minus 84 doesn't look good (though teammates like Kurashev and Reichel are worse, per-minutes played), but who cares about plus/minus for young offensive players developing on crap teams? To wit:
> Mario Lemieux -- minus 41 first two seasons
> Joe Sakic -- minus 76 first two seasons
> Erik Karlsson -- minus 35 first two seasons

Everyone chill. After he starts shaving and has non-AHL teammates, we can start to evaluate him.

Good post but you are wrong about about "From his draft class. he has 64 more points (!) than the second-highest producing player drafted (Zach Benson), in about the same number of games."

Fantilli is 46 behind - as of tonight - in 20 less games. Leo Carlsson too : 51 less points.

Bedard is 'causing way more goals against than he is generating 5v5 with his total lack of defensive responsibility or understanding. It is a remarkable feat from a "superstar" player, young or not.
