He is on the smaller side and it might take him a bit to find how to make it work in the NHL (like Jack Hughes). But I would not be surprised at all if Bedard manages to put up 70+ points over an 82 game pace in his very first year. In his prime, I would expect he will be a 110 to 140 point per game player.
From Bader. The bolded made me faint.

Same. Met him his rookie year. I'm 5'10, and he was definitely two inches or so shorter than me. I'll see if i can dig up a picture.
Again I'm 6'1. Kane was at least five inches shorter than me. It's not even the height it's how frail he was.

Man is having an amazing career. Anyone comparing Kane's physique to Bedard's just doesn't get it.

I think you are wrong and this opinion is a dumb one.
Don't beat around the bush, what do you think? I'm not saying he can't play center, what I'm saying is that to maximize his scoring prowess, he'll probably move to wing. He has a tendency to not play a 200 foot game because of his reads which enables him to play closer to the opposing D which is hard to do at the NHL when teams are dumping it in and grinding the boards.

He’ll play the wall on PP and never play PK and they’ll get him some big fast forecheckers to do the dirty work for him. We need to stop thinking of him “inside the box” as a regular player that needs to play a 200 foot game to survive. He will roam and float and get supported down low by his wingers and he’ll reward you with 60 goals and 110 points. Don’t overthink it.

I think he sticks at center. Maybe not for his first season, but for his career.

He's not the type that plays along the boards, he's the type that thrives in open ice; it's where he generates offense from.

5’9” 185 is great. At 5’9” a healthy non-athlete male should be 165-170lbs. The kid has a lot of muscle. He’ll just need to keep his head up since he’s at shoulder to head level against a lot of the bigger guys in the league

He's more or less the same size as me, and he's f***ing 17... At 5'10, I want to play at 185-190... Any heavier and it starts to slow you down. He doesnt need to put on any weight to thrive in the NHL.

He's a legitimate 185 lbs. People questioning his size just have no clue in regards to the game. At that size, there's nobody in the league, aside from the absolute monsters, he can't compete with in the corners. A guy at 5'9 and 185 lbs. will emasculate a guy who is 6'0 and 190 based on center of gravity alone.

I think he's going to shock a lot of posters here.

A lot of folks just trying to find something wrong with him. Too much time from the lottery to the draft.

Just looked up Brayden Points combine measurements and he was 5' 9,75" tall and 160 lbs. So I think Bedard will be just fine as a center as his numbers were in the combine 5' 9,75" and 185 lbs. At the moment Point is 180 lbs so Bedard is alredy 5lbs heavier at 17 year old.

This is my point. I was a bag of milk as a hockey player. Some guys you could bully with fat muscle. Some guys were small pitbulls that I needed to be aware of on the ice because they could absolutely light me up with a fifteen foot head start.

18 year old Kane? Lol no chance. Bedard? That kid could break my sternum.

This. These people are the kind of folks that would have founds flaws in Mario, Gretzky, etc.
They did. Everyone has flaws, nobody is perfect. I don't know why this is difficult to understand, they're just human beings. People get way too butthurt and personally offended if you dare suggest he's not the 2nd coming of Jesus.

We're all very excited but pointing out a potential concern shouldn't cause a civil war. Bears fans are doing the same thing with Justin Fields, it's just silly.

That's my point, also. If there such a thing as a "perfect player" then said player would not need teammates. Why harp on his flaws?

I think with so much time from lottery to draft we, as a collective group, have officially arrived here:

I might toss up some of my stats and a few body shots, just to get everyone’s feedback on the positives and deficiencies of my physique. I’d like to know what looks like it’d be effective for a 40 year old office worker.

Please hurry up, June 28th.

I know it's been said before - but not very much - Bedard is not a wallflower out there. He doesn't usually go looking to be physical but he has shown many times that he doesn't shy away from it. He's got that pitbull physique that can both take and give a solid hit. I'm not worried in the least that he won't be able to handle the physical part of the game. That's not to say he won't have to get acclimated to it as any player has to stepping up in class - but he'll handle it no problem.

1 guy made a comment about size/1C, I said there maybe some validity (which a few pro scouts had mentioned too btw). Then the last 4 pages have been a circlejerk of people saying its dumb. If anyone is harping it's the people who are still responding to 2-3 posts from 4 pages ago.

Was it not OK to point out that rookie McDavid needed to get stronger, was terrible at faceoffs, and his defense was at times very bad? He (much like Kane) was also a bit too passive early in his career, he needed to learn to look for his shot more & not get too cute. It took him many years to fix most of those holes.

I dont understand why you're not allowed to voice concerns. Even the best players have issues, we should be able discuss them without everyone immediately dismissing it, dogpiling, & calling it stupid. Again people need to stop taking it so personally.

I'm not calling you out specifically btw, just in general.
