I get commercial real estate listings for western licking county. The small lots and parcels of land starting to get carved up for sale is hilarious

Pretty soon there won’t be a square to spare

Completely random question: by chance, is anyone going to Punta Gorda, FL anytime soon, say between now and end of April?

Long story short, I would pay you to take a turtle with you and drop it off at Iguana Land in Punta Gorda.

I've checked and it seems most airlines will allow a carry-on turtle as long as it's in a carrier (I will provide). This is useful both in this specific situation and also for later if you end up with an emotional support tortoise, which science says at least 30% of us will within the next 10 years. ETA: Turns out they are much more picky when you actually ask them specifically if a carry on turtle is acceptable, and literally none of them are willing to take on the kind of risk that an airborne turtle would inevitably lead too. I think "Snakes On A Plane" really did a number on them and now they're just like "F*** it, if it's not furry it ain't gettin' on this mother-lovin' plane!" So you'd have to drive it down there all Smokey and the Bandit style, outwitting the state troopers who are cracking down on interstate turtle trafficking.

Anyway, I have arranged for Iguana Land to take the turtle as a rescue and while I can ship it there, I'm not jazzed about FedEx a living creature. But I totally trust Blue Jackets fans for all my turtle relocation projects.

Reply back if you happen to be headed that way and are willing to be the temporary guardian of an 8 inch Yellow-Bellied Slider, or possible an Eastern River Cooter. Thanks!

Factory Tours

A couple of fun options in Central Ohio if you are like me and enjoy a good factory tour. Spotlight on the American Whistle Company conveniently located near Anheuser-Busch. Maybe if the zoo has lost some appeal due to the accreditation fiasco, factory tours could replace it for potential free agent recruiting purposes.

Zoo is re-accredited.

Still plenty to do besides.

Besides all of the great things about Columbus mentioned in the Interesting Tidbits thread, what free agent players do you think would really enjoy German Village and rectangular pizza slices? :sarcasm:

I can use this pic in a reply to you because you're one of 3-4 people who will understand it.

I know part of the reference (I blame having older friends) but I still don't quite get it.

Arte Johnson portrayed a number of recurring characters, including:
Wolfgang the German soldier - Wolfgang would comment on the previous gag by saying "Verrry interesting",

So, in my mind, continued riffing on "interesting."

Nothing like a fried stick of butter. Pass. I worked The Big E in Massachusetts for a couple years, if I wasn't working it I wouldn't have been going to it.

Ohio has the best fair. Not fair to compare to other states

I have to think watching Oklahoma and Texas play football as part of the Texas State Fair is hard to beat.

County fairs in semi rural areas are more fun than state fairs. As long as you don’t do something stupid and get your ass beat.

Worked with Don for short time a few years ago. More stories than I can remember. He played with Kobe’s dad and was friends with both Kobe and his father. Close friends with Buster Douglas, too.

Maybe our zoo is less impressive than we think. They can’t even tell the difference between a male gorilla and a female gorilla. We are so screwed in free agency once this gets out.

My daughter works at the zoo and we were in the car the other day when her employee messages/notifications started blowing up. Crazy.
