Grandview Avenue is a cool strip of restaurants and shops in Grandview Heights. Not too far from OSU. There are a couple Middle Eastern restaurants on Grandview Ave. - Mazah and Aladdin's.

We don't need fancy but not looking for a sports bar or fast casual either. We hear C-Bus has some great dining options so some suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Middle Eastern/Mediterranean is always a plus with us (a place like Taza in Cleveland would do us nicely) :)

You might just cruise north on High St from campus to Clintonville. Lavash Cafe is a good Mediterranean option. A couple of other non-Mediterranean options are Local Cantina and Hot Chicken Takeover. I was also going to suggest Harvest Pizza, but it looks like it is temporarily closed. There are many other restaurants in Clintonville. If you keep going on north on High Street you get to Beechwold. Pat and Gracie’s is good. And if you keep going North you hit Old Worthington before you eventually hit 270. Old Worthington has Columbus staples like Old Bag of Nails, La Chatalaine, and Graeters.

All of these might be a little on the casual side. If you want higher end, you can always hit the Refectory.

Brassica is a great casual Mediterranean place, Lavash is nice

If you want to head downtown, Lola's is great and Sidebar has GREAT tapas and a great happy hour.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We feel like Columbus has so much to explore and wish we had more opportunity to come down and do it. I know we have done Aladdins and Brassica in Cleveland...both excellent options! We have of course done Graeters many many times...bad for the waist but great for the taste buds and there is an Old Bag of Nails up our way in Lexington.

Not sure what we will do yet but will look into Mazah, Local Cantina, and Lola's.

On a side note, WOSU (NPR) has a local morning show and on Fridays they do a culinary topic. One day I was driving to Columbus while the show was on. It was the hour before noon and I was hungry before getting in the car. They spent an entire hour talking about local taco shops. OMG I was STARVING by the time I got to town. Sounds like lots of good taco options...food trucks as well!

Los Guachos is a good place to go. There is one off Bethel and one on Sawmill. We had an intern at work a few years ago who was originally from Mexico so we asked her where we should eat. She said Los Guachos is where the Mexicans go. My experience at Los Guachos is lots of Mexicans do go there. Los Agaves is a taco truck to hit in Clintonville.

Los Gaunchos was highly recommended on the WOSU radio show.

Seconding Los Agavez for sure. I live just up the road and walk up there all the time. Get the birria. I recommend Charritos on Reed, too. In fact, I don't think I've ever gone and not been the only white person there, but I speak Spanish. A lot of their staff is Venezuelan and Salvadoran, not Mexican, and they serve absolutely enormous margaritas (not my thing, but it is a selling point for some).

Harvest just reopened this week after remodeling from a fire.

Bringing the family Friday to catch the Leafs and looking for a recommendation for a good sports bar near the arena.
We were there in December 2018 and had a blast but for the life of me I can't remember the bar we hung out at before the game.
I do recall they served draft in a massive container with a tap that you could pour yourself at the table.

Appreciate any help or suggestions.

*** my daughter figured it out, R Bar Arena.

Welcome back (almost). Check in our Friday GDT and let us know where/how to find you and welcome you properly - if you want.

It looks like big changes are coming to the Club sections C1 through C6 for the 24-25 season. Very few details were offered in the email other than making it an all inclusive area, improved seating, and expanding the walkway currently behind those sections. We are in that section and love our seats. I wonder what that’s going to do to the STH cost moving forward!

Is it the acts that are being brought in that you aren't happy about? I don't go to concerts often so I don't really pay attention who has been through there.

yes. not pleased with the shows coming in. everything halfway decent has been going to the schott for weekday shows.

the reality is its probably not the booking agents fault, rather the venue doesnt seem to be attractive to big name acts for some reason.

I actually just checked the schedule. It’s country music, March madness, and mumble rap through October

Goose was there and I wasn’t able to go… so I guess that counts and I should give the venue the nod for that
