I'm from a city whose zoo displays its beavers in the wolf enclosure. My standards for being impressed are low,

Saw Red White & Boom for the first time this year. Quite enjoyed it. Not sure how much that was aided by being at the Clippers game and getting to watch from the Huntington Park stands.

On a related note, I can't believe that the City of Cleveland is passing up virtually free $$$ by not selling VIP tents for our July 4 Edgewater Park Fireworks.

Sportsbook is a meh for me as I don't gamble.

Regarding the airport - I hope all this growth in the area actually gets us more direct flights.

Crazy that the only airline flying to Nashville (direct) from CMH is Southwest.
Crazy how tough it is to get to Raleigh, NC - 1 direct flight each day.

Getting to Chicago and Atlanta are easy, but I hope sometime in future (and maybe it's related to CMH expansion) it's a little easier to get around.

While we are the 14th largest city, we are just the 32nd largest metro.....but we should have more than the 50th most airline passengers, which is where they are

I always check flights from Cleveland, Cincinnati, etc. Years ago I found a much cheaper direct flight out west from Indianapolis than anything out of Ohio. Wish we had better flights out of Columbus.

It's always wise to check other airports. I'd rather have a non-stop flight from a further away airport than a flight with connections from my local one (within reason of course). Just this past November my wife and I went to Germany and flew direct non-stop out of Detroit. We live about an hour north of Columbus so totally worth the extra 90 minutes of driving to avoid the hassle and potential complications of connections.

I grew up thirty minutes from Laguardia and Kennedy (and not much further to Newark) and as much as you couldn't pay me to move back there, the convenience of being able to fly most anywhere non-stop (domestically and internationally) was something I took for granted.

It happened decades before I was born, but I will still never forgive them for changing the name from Idlewild to JFK. Idlewild is the best airport name I can imagine. JFK wasn't even from New York!

Also, yes. My mom's father was from northern New Jersey and I still have tons of family there and NYC. I usually fly there and build a day or two into my travel plans then go from LGA/JFK/Newark.

It's available on Youtube. I watched it while sleeping in my recliner for six weeks rehabbing my rotator cuff.

Speaking of which, if anyone ever needs a shoulder specialist, I HIGHLY recommend my surgeon Dr Sochacki at Orthopedic One off Sawmill. I have never had a surgeon who spent so much time with me explaining everything and answering all my questions. He never made me feel like he was rushing me out the door so he could get to his next patient. Oh, and my surgery was pretty successful!

If I may add a name, Dr Johansen at OrthopedicOne on Taylor Station Rd. Exact same experience with him and my rotator cuff surgery and he also is my knee Dr. 10/10 care

Not sure where to put this (or if it's allowed ... I FORGET THE RULES). But I have a cousin who lives out of town. He bought 4 tix to the Oct. 14 Rangers game but now isn't going to be in town. He's looking to sell them. Sect. 222, row N, seats 9-13. $200 for all four which looks like it's at least small break vs. buying available tickets.

If interested, I am happy to connect you to him.

Dave Matthews band is heavily rumored to be adding a fall tour date in Columbus around nov 7 or 8.

Just really crossing my fingers it’s nationwide arena. I strongly dislike the schott

Hey question for you folks, is there a big difference in Nationwide attendance for teams that are "close"/in the same division?

Meaning that if I would plan to get to some CBJ home games this season, and I don't want to reserve tickets far in advance, do I have a better chance at getting tickets/good seats against teams like Seattle, Vancouver, Anaheim, Tampa, etc, teams that are far removed from the Metropolitan division (as opposed to teams like NJD, NYR, BUF, etc).

(Let's assume we're not leading the league or anything like that, but maybe still remain in the hunt for wild card or so.)

Before football season (NCAA) over it's usually easy to get tickets unless a premier team in town (or opening night).

After NCAA football it seems like attendance picks up especially on weekends (folks looking for things to do). if the Jackets are competitive then it gets tougher.

Just my .02

Let me be clear, I started looking and not sure I am going to get even one ticket for $200 @ MSG. I hope my nephew appreciates how much I like him.

They have a ticket sale/swap on their board here. You might be able to cut a deal with an hf member. I can’t imagine they’ve got a lot of demand for tickets to a Jackets game.

OSU football related, when is the time usually announced for a TBA game? A few days before? Also, we're going to do the park and ride, where's a good lot to do from and how soon before kickoff before they fill up? Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
