Hi, me and some friends are doing a road trip from NYC through Columbus, Detroit and Buffalo this weekend. Can someone give me some pointers about the arena and the area nearby? What's good to get to eat/drink in the arena, what's the best value item, do they serve Tims coffee and donuts (better yet is there a Tims by the arena), do they have programs available, is the team store selling all star game souvineers like pucks or programs and does the team have tables set up where I can get pocket skeds (have friends who collect)? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

...if you've never had Skyline, head up to 208 and grab some Skyline Chili Cheese Fries.
Nationwide is easily the best arena I've ever been in. Perfect sightlines, seats are close to the ice, wide concourses, great concessions and reasonable prices. Makes Barclays or Prudential Center look like a toilet. Also liked the fans, good atmosphere where people are knowledgeble and into the game. Also loved the cannon and Stinger, everyone's most beloved green bug! Definitely want to make a return trip. Also our hotel was near a Giant Eagle so I got a bunch of cans of Skyline (that stuff is the best!).
“It’s like a frat party,†he said, “or kindergarten.â€
I don't know if this the right place to ask, if Not direct me to that place...
But
I'm taking my son to the game tomorrow, he's almost 3, is there anything around the arena, or in the arena for young kids like that? Like a "Jackets Kidz Zone" or a "Stingers Goal Extavaganza" or a "Nationwide CBJ Activity Club" type thing?
Thanks bros!
There is Stringers Clubhouse outside of 112-113 and some other kids games outside of 106, but they might be a little to old for a 3 year old. Really not a lot for kids that age. Eating is my daughters favorite thing to do at the arena.
There's a new tenant going in the old FBWB/343 Front location. http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus...st-resort-looking-at-arena-district-spot.html
This is great. Dick's is a blast. Probably not something you'd do a lot, but still fun. Nothing quite like the semi-hot waitress calling a friend a "*****" for his choice of wing sauce
I'm still somewhat shocked that BW3 or Rooster's hasn't found a home in the Arena District.
Problem with BWs or Roosters is you have to have a concept that can survive on lunch and happy hour, then staff up for games/events. On non game/event nights you can't get people to pay $5 to park to eat wings and drink beer.
heck look at Chipotle down there they close at 2pm on days there is not a game just because they know no one is around.
Now if they could ever strike a deal to get $1 parking (like the theater) you may have something - but someone pays for that parking (the theater itself in higher rent).
Dick's will be interesting I was at the one in Panama City last year and it was fun. You have to have a sense of humor so many won't get it. But I honestly miss the old FBWB, so I hope it does well.
That article was from 2014, is that for sure happening?
