wasn't a fan of bareburger...it was ok...just for the price it wasn't anything special to me...

I don't love it myself, but other friends liked it more. I'd rather spend a few more bucks and get something really good at the Hilton or Martini's…etc.

44 dollars for upper bowl, row m. One ticket for tonight's game. What a joke.

How early would you guys get in line tonight for the green seats and how early for the student rush?

The cheapest ticket on stubhub for tonight's game...... that's what I was talking about.

You want it to be cheaper?

$44 for a Saturday night NHL game doesn't seem very bad to me. Hopefully the days of $5-10 seats are over for awhile.

R Bar is the hockey bar, right outside the arena, all hockey all the time, great place to pre and post game and even go on off nights. Anywhere right there on Park Street will be fun for a 20's something. If your dad likes live music of the classic variety, Woodlands Bar in Grandview and Park Street Tavern on Park St. Historical Society for a day thing, never been to the Air Museum in Dayton but that seems like a long drive when there is plenty to do here. At least an hour both ways and you don't know your way around...If you like nice steakhouses, Hyde Park on High Street. Gordon Biersch next to the arena has good food and beers also. I personally would skip the Statehouse, not much to see on the inside really. Wouldn't mean much to you unless you are from Ohio.

Enjoy our city! I'll be going to New York for the Feb 22 game, any idea where the Jackets or opposing teams usually stay in New York?

It is actually pretty easy. An hour isn't that long, IMO. I guess people in Ohio are just used to not having to travel much to go to places. Go to a big city and you have to go that long to get to some places.

Heard about this book this morning on 102.5. David Paitson was on for a few minutes promoting it, which will be out in a few weeks.

A lot of them stay at the Crown Plaza, but there are teams that stay at other downtown hotels and other stay out at Easton.

The team buses enter the arena via the underground dock. So no chance of seeing the team coming into the arena.

I have two tickets for tonight's Fan Fair for STH's and can't go. Assuming I can transfer them (I think I can) I'd love to trade them for tickets for another night if anyone is interested.

I don't believe they can be traded electronically, the only choices available on ticketmaster are either "print" or "donate."

Hi, me and some friends are doing a road trip from NYC through Columbus, Detroit and Buffalo this weekend. Can someone give me some pointers about the arena and the area nearby? What's good to get to eat/drink in the arena, what's the best value item, do they serve Tims coffee and donuts (better yet is there a Tims by the arena), do they have programs available, is the team store selling all star game souvineers like pucks or programs and does the team have tables set up where I can get pocket skeds (have friends who collect)? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Beautiful arena and there's no bad seats, although the top 3 or 4 rows of the upper bowl are a long way up. The area surrounding the arena (called the Arena District) is full of bars and restaurants. The R Bar is the best hockey bar. Previous posts on this page and the preceding page have a bunch of recommendations for nearby places to go in the Arena District and the Short North (bar/restaurant area).

No one food stands out for me in the arena, although the burgers aren't bad. Decent selection of microbrews - I like the stand outside section 117 and the Ohio specific stand just a little bit down from there. They have Tim Hortons coffee and baked goods in the arena and there is a large Tim Horton's located just outside the back entrance of the arena if you want to get something before you go in. Still a decent amount of all-star stuff in the team store and you'll have no problem getting a pocket schedule.
