Ahh the beginnings of a new relationship. In 9 months, she'll be on her phone doom scrolling instagram and he'll be deep into some random hentai game on the switch.

Incoming Boomer take: In my day, we didn't "test a new relationship" playing video games. And if we did, we sure as hell didn't advertise it.

Kinda funny that KSE is simultaneously trying to garner public support for their massive real estate development while also helping to keep entire swaths of local fans from even seeing the Avalanche and Nuggets...at a time when BOTH have won championships and are still considered elite teams. Like...c'mon guys, give it up already. For being notorious cheapskates they've proven they're more than willing to hemorrhage money to keep up a fight they know damn well they're going to lose.

It is very clear where the market is heading for the local rights, and some of the early adopters such as Vegas, have actually had excellent returns. It is just a vastly different model. One that goes against the very investment that KSE made.

The dirty secret of billionaires is that they really aren't a special class of person. They're just like everyone else, the only difference is they're luckier than you.
You could say a lot of them were given better choices to make and thus were luckier, but also they still had to make those choices. What it doesn’t do is necessarily make them any of a better person than anyone else.

At a certain point, having a big pile of money just makes you richer regardless of what you do with it. Even if you make very stupid choices in business (like certain real estate/casino tycoons in recent memory) you will remain rich just from inertia.

Tell this to Bernie Madoff.

You would think that a successful billionaire wouldn't fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy.
If anything I've learned the richest people in the world are also some of the most panicky and insecure. The fact that they have almost limitless funds just means their ventures are driven more by ego than actual business acumen. No logic whatsoever.

On a side note I just watched something that showed that's pretty much what's led to the complete collapse of the television industry. One streamer shows up with a completely unsustainable business plan, and all the major networks and studios took one look and instead of realizing it was unsustainable, panicked and abandoned the business model that made them billions and rushed into streaming services of their own that are now hemorrhaging money and putting hundreds of people out of work.

Yep, that one. Saw that and the one where Google has f***ing ruined the Internet (I did not know why recipe websites are so goddamned annoying until now).

Conover is brilliant but gawd, his videos depress the living shit outta me.
I know, right? Some More News is another similar channel I really love, but man is it bleak sometimes.
