I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the Kadris do not like Kyle Dubas very much lol

The timing of this article is interesting. Seems like the front office and/or Kadri's agent have requested Baugh to write this story as a bit of PR right ahead of the playoffs, especially considering that they've made Kadri available for an interview in his home with his family to make him seem more human. The Landeskog speech after Carolina also seemed quite calculated.

Man CHGO is an awful name. How do you pronounce that? Cha-go?

I don't think the idea is to say it like a word. They always spell out DNVR, so it's what their brand is, for better or worse.

They're gonna have a really tough time figuring out what to do in a market like Miami. MIMA? MAMI?

DADE for Dade County?

Yeah I know. I don't think DNVR is that great of a name either, but at least it has some familiarity to the sound of it, since everyone has heard VR before. CHGO doesn't sound like anything. It just sounds annoying to say.

If they don't go with MAMI for Miami they're blowing it. Fits the Cuban culture perfectly. Still doesn't sound great spelling it out though.

Didn't know the people behind DNVR were in other markets.

I still haven't figured out how they can afford to pay a living wage to like 4 people to "cover" the Avs.

I mean Jesse said that he quit his former job to work at DNVR, so they are getting paid real money to do the podcast, they aren't doing it just for the free drinks.

There's just no way that they can afford to pay all these employees (in all the sports covered) just with subs or with the bar money.

Looks like a worse version of the Netflix business model "we aren't profitable yet now but maybe one day"...

Even the Athletic is bleeding money these days. I literally got a one year subscription for $9.99 CAD the other day.

They get some revenue from advertiser's as Nathan reads ads between periods on the podcast. The YT content is free but their website has a paywall which probably generates a little bit or they wouldn't have AJ pumping out articles.

Just a note:

Last night, the Avs game was played mostly on ESPN U, which I don't have and I imagine many don't (I have ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN News). However, because I had synced my TV provider to my ESPN+ app, I was able to watch the Avs-Preds live on ESPN+.

Take note, just in case Penguins-Rangers goes to OT again...

I listened on the radio during the first as I was trying to get my daughter to sleep. Wasn't too effective, she was cheering the goals the same time I was, but eventually she fell asleep and I was able to watch the 2nd and 3rd on Altitude. Sucks that they bumped the Avs game to ESPN U.
