Not Great, Bob!
With people switching jobs and everything, I just wish there was at least a thread of some kind to let us know about Griffin Youngs.
You call it his competitiveness, but I think what makes him (and Borque before) so damn special is that they are both straight up damn assassins with icek-cold blood temps. I have no idea what the picture looks like inside his mind, but from the outside Cale does not get rattled. He does not get upset. He goes about his job. 10 minutes left in the game up by 3, 28 seconds left down by 1 it doesn't matter. Cale is calm, workmanlike and above all else, dangerous.Love that Ray called out his competitiveness.
I was listening just hoping that's what he was going to single out about what he loves about his game, because I knew of all people Ray would have noticed this and appreciated it.
It's such an under appreciated and under acknowledged aspect of what makes Cale so special. He has all the skills, talent, vision, and athleticism in the world, but it's his competitive nature that makes him so great. It's what makes all the great players great.

It's amazing that we have a defenseman that when he has a bad night and we can all agree he was dogshit compared to his standards, you watch what he did...and you'd still want that as your #1 Dman 10 out 10 times. I'm not sure how many individual awards he's going to get, but he just plays the game at such a damn high level even his lows are high.

I would disagree slightly. I don't think Cale's blood runs cold. I think it's always on simmer when he's playing hockey.
We've seen it show signs of boiling over before too.
Skirmishes where Toews is getting roughed up and Cale comes to his defense. His big hit on McCann. His Forsberg like stare during faceoffs getting ready to go to war. The way he just goes all out 100% on every shift.
There was that one play I think against Arizona too where I think he reverse hit a guy that was going after him, and he went back to the bench and just started nodding at him like, "Yeah I got you didn't I."
Wonder if he goes to CHN? He and Evan would be quite decent for them."Stand by, I don't plan on going far"
Wonder where he is going.
Doubt they generate enough money to hire another guyWonder if he goes to CHN? He and Evan would be quite decent for them.
What can she realistically expect?Ehhhhhh, is that a step up?
That makes senseMy guess is he’s going to the Avs, like the old Boulding job. Then his appearance in that dev camp video would make a ton more sense and I know Sasha recently moved on from the team coverage.
A Nancy Grace show or Judge Judy? She would bring the viewers no doubt. What can she realistically expect?
