I never said he was shortNot disagreeing that strength & weight is one path he could take that would help. He can't go to the gym and make himself taller.

No you didn't. But he is, by NHL standards.
Someone posted that if he was 1 inch taller we wouldn't be hearing about his size. I don't think 1 inch would make the difference, but 3 might. Then it would be, just wait till he fills out.![]()

I'm surprised he wasn't injured in that fall.I had him at #4 in that draft as well. I figured his range would be 4-7. I was ecstatic when he fell to us at 10.

Yep. Mighta landed on Ehlers.
Looking for a big year from Confetti. Maybe after he’s done his stint with Gary Roberts he can squeeze in a quick sesh at the Kyle Connor Institute of Contact Avoidance.
Would be nice to see him crack Wheelers top 3.
5’ 8” and rising.

Couldn't agree more surixon. I'm also looking forward to Vilardi given an opportunity at C, to develop into a dynamite 2-way C we so desperately need.Wheeler has always been high on him. I'm looking for a big year from him where he stays healthy and converts to the center ice position.
Pretty sure he made a change this summer, but to Matt Nichol @paragenixsystems on instagram, not to Gary Roberts. His he working with Robert's this summer? If so that would be a change from his past routine.
Recent interview with Cole: Perfetti ready to pounce
Sounds like he's 100% healthy now, and hungry to earn that 2C spot come training camp. Seems like he prefers playing C to wing if he had the choice anyway.

Thanks for this. Plenty of food for hope here. I especially liked this bit:
I think we’ve done a really good job of drafting. There’s going to be some really high-end players for us in the future,” said Perfetti. “I’ve talked to all of those guys, spent a bit of time with Lambert and Lucius, I’m excited to meet McGroarty and Barlow. They seem like first-class people. It’s exciting to have those kinds of people coming into the organization, guys you know you’re going to spend a huge chunk of your career playing with.”

Yea I noticed that part too. He is obvioulsy excited for the deeper team this season but yea he is REALLY excited about how the org has been drafting since he was picked. IF we want to get back to keeping and signing our players we need them to be excited about the future young talent being drafted like Wheeler and Buff were as they came towards contract negotiation time back in the day. We can’t piss away assets and draft capital anymore. We need to have a huge draft this upcoming June and for the next two seasons after. That is how we get back to being a contender, we need higher picks, more 1st round picks, and we NEED LUCK.
Pefetti has a great attitude about facing injury adversity early in his career. He is a critical piece now and the team will be his and Morrissey’s as soon as next season if he can transition to centre and take the next step. He is one of the highest pedigree draft choices we have had in the 2.0 era (top 5 Jet on draft day pedigree wise IMO). Cole is the beginning of our next core post dark age when our drafting sewered immediately after the Laine pick and up until the the point Perfetti was chosen (Samberg being possibly the only potential exception).
Perfetti’s ability to stick at centre won’t be about how well he defends because I believe he could be our best top 6 centre at defending since Bryan Little (not counting Paul Stastny since he was a rental) but sadly defending is optional with the Jets. His coach is from the era when Cole will only stick at center if he can win 5 out of 10 faceoffs but not 4 out of 10. Its not going to be about how well he plays the position if he can’t pass the mind numbing entrance exam. Good luck with your face off % Cole we could really use you as a top 6 TWO WAY centre and our orgs future might be hitched to how well you adapt at the dot (sadly I am not being sarcastic).
I've been hoping the Jets stop with the 'round peg in the square hole' strategy for years... They only time I've seen it is with Jmo last year when they finally set him free to be the best he can be.I sincerely hope Chevy has had a long conversation with Bones on this.

Agree. It's a head-scratcher at times. But he did seem to note this element of decision-making after that comeback loss (COL?) and it didn't seem to be as big a deal after that.
(Maybe we need Cole to shadow Kevin Stenlund before training camp -- or wear one of those Mission Impossible Stenners masks.)
He's got such great tools to be a new-model centre, especially with MacG, Lambert, Lucius, Barlow, Salmo -- finally we have some really exciting complementary talent coming down the pike.
