If he stays healthy all year long and so does Suzi, he will most definately put 35-40 minimum.

If Suzi falls in battle ala Dach, I believe he's gonna put in 25-30 depending if and when that scenario happens which I pray it doesn't.

Suzuki only assisted 1/3 of CC's goals since MSL came in. Caufield doesn't need Suzuki to score 35-40.

Place him with Newhook or with Monahan and he's still pacing 0.50 gpg.

I have not digged into it to be honest and you make a fair point considering the above stat you brought up.

Neithertheless let's hope nobody gets injured long term starting now!! 🙏

Cammalleri. Caufield is Cammalleri on roids.
I forgot all about him but Cammy was sneaky good for the Habs. Probably the best performing FA signing in my memory -- coming off a PPG season, he signed a good deal with the Habs and brought the ruckus in the playoffs. Doesn't reach PPG but produces well enough for the lineup in which he finds himself... finds himself unceremoniously dumped during a tank season and his career goes into tailspin from that point.

That's because Caufield's create most of his scoring opportunities. Even more this season I feel (it's not working because he's often alone against 4 defenders).

He was shooting like 50% during the Halak run, he and Caufield have that “clutch” gene I figure.

Speaking of Coco, how about that reverse hit and that ot snipe woot woot!

Going to have to revise my 50 goal prediction. With Dach down, I think Caufield gets 40+ instead of 50 this year.

He makes it look so easy.

Who’s the last pure sniper we’ve had?

I don’t think Pacioretty was a sniper — he felt more of a shooter to me.
Kovalev’s shot accuracy on the PP was otherworldly but really probably haven’t had one since Richer?

Weirdly enough, I think he's gotten better as a scorer this season by being a bit lazy/more selective. He's learning to pick his spots and not waste too much energy when he doesn't have to, which has been the bread and butter of almost all of the top scorers in the history of the league. To me it's a true sign that he's more experienced now and he's starting to figure the league out.

Caufield is also a very good playmaker and I said that since his draft year. He isn't just a elite goalscorer. He have elite hands and elite passing ability. This guy will not just score 40g++, with good players around him like Suzuki and another piece between them, he will put 40a++ aswell.

Caufield and Suzuki are both PPG type of players, they can do that this year, but they are gonna put that type of season every year, when Habs are going to be a really good team. Habs have potential to become a very good team, just need Dach and Guhle don't be injuries prone and everything will be fine.

For the first time in a long time, he’s pacing for less than 40 goals. No biggie but worth noting as we track his progress this year.

But for the first time in his career, hes pacing for over 80 points.
Yep. He’s played really well for the most part. He and Suzuki have been better at creating sustained pressure lately too.

Not even ten gales in but it’s fun to track. I don’t think he’s ever paced below forty since MSL has been his coach.
