Great trade. Hardly gave anything to most likely fix a fairly big hole. And this coming from a Pavel fan even if his offense was lacking.

I wouldn't say its for sure gonna fix our 3C hole. But its a way better shot than the 2027 3rd or Pavel (who might still be a 4C, but at max potential).
I don't think Pavel ever plays in the NHL. This is a guy who can't even produce in the minors and struggled to produce in college. Unless some coach loves him the way Roy loved Marc-Andre Cliche, he'll never touch NHL ice.

and got a 7th back. At least there's an extra bullet in the gun.

I really wouldnt care about minor league production for a 4th liner though.

He needs to show more at the AHL if he’s really got any shot at the NHL though. Ivan put up 31 points in 67 games with the Eagles last year. Pavel put up 10 in 61 games last year and 2 in 14 this year.

This is a legit question. Knee injuries are the only reason why Pärssinen fell to the 7th round.

I forgot about all the details and I could be wrong but if I remember correctly it's both knees and something that's likely not gonna go away completely, something he'll have to manage for the rest of his career. He probably won't be able to play big minutes for 82 games. He's pretty good when healthy though. Big two way Center with soft hands and the ability to hit like a truck.

He can do spectacular things when healthy:

The shrug was ice cold

Look at trouba in the second clip. Comes in hot trying to lay out an unsuspecting player instead of trying to prevent the goal against. If he gets his stick out instead of trying to lead with his shoulder /elbow he might be able to contribute defensively.

4th liners in the NHL have to be able to give you 15-20 points. They can't be completely anemic just "work hard" like Pavel does.

He hasn't show he can give you that at a minor league level. No coach will put up with his lack of production at the NHL level.

4th line production doesnt translate between AHL to NHL since theres no PP time and points come from just random broken plays and rarely sustained offensive plays. So i can see an elite AHL grinder (not saying its Pavel) putting up more points in the NHL than AHL.

If you can find me examples of guys who couldn't produce in the NCAA, then couldn't produce in the AHL but magically found their way onto an NHL roster playing 4th line minutes and legitimately giving 15-20 points I would love to see it.

Avs just trying to corner the Finnish market. Ratings and merch sales through the roof from Oulu to Helsinki. Colorado Eagles rumored to move to Turku. Saunas being installed in Ball Arena concourses. Reindeer burgers all the rage in the Front Range. Forsberg's restaurant is boycotted for selling Swedish non-sense. CMac trying to fight every urge in his body to avoid putting in a waiver claim for Puljujarvi.

It's actually wild how 5 of our 12 forwards for tomorrow will be from Finland.
