biggest canes trade ever?
last one even close imo would be brind'amour/primeau

hopefully we can keep him around for like 12.5 or so but if we have to go up to like 14 so be it. We have a lot of contracts that are going to age extremely well as the cap goes up so even if we pay him that I think we're in great cap shape going forward.Carolina can fit Rantanen if they wish. There is now $29.5M, possibly a little more, coming off the books:
Orlov (7.75M)
Burns (5.28M)
Roslovic (2.8M)
Hall (6M)
Andersen (3.4M)
Rantanen (4.625M)
And I believe at least one of Nadeau and Unger Sorem make the team, probably both if they do sign Rantanen.Canes are probably re-signing Robinson, but he'll be a pretty reasonable cap hit. Also, Nikishin's ELC will be in Orlov's spot. RD next to Slavin will either be Burns for a cheap one-year deal or Morrow's ELC. They'll have plenty of space for Rantanen.
We happy.
hey, didn't kruger get us noted first-liner jordan martinook?I remember having to feign excitement over trades for Bryan Allen or Marcus Kruger.
This shit is so much better.

Goalie is the big budget item, although I'd rather see a better RD come in.
What’s interesting is that Servellani first reported KK as part of the deal, and then later deleted the tweet and apologized. Said KK wasn’t “part of the deal to Colorado” and that “there’s a lot floating around”.
That, to me, sounds like there might be a KK deal out there (Probably Vancouver) that’s still in the works.
Played out of his mind the last week, stays and gets to play with not one, but two of the biggest stars in his country.

I'm sure he's lighting up a nice cigar tonight.
Pitkanen trade went pretty well until he died...I remember having to feign excitement over trades for Bryan Allen or Marcus Kruger.

Nadeau I can understand based on size. Unger Sorem nearly made the team out of camp in 2023. I think he makes it out of camp in 2025.I don't think that either of those two are quite ready yet for the big show. My guess is that they'll take a book from what they did this offseason and go on a pro-scouting binge to fill out the roster.
I think Hall goes onto that line and Robinson slides down.I dunno, that second line looks a lot worse without Necas on it.
Robinson-KK-Blake (I’m assuming)
and i wish necas well. he could blow up in colorado and if he does i'll be happy he found a better fit.
drury to me is like losing foegele. he's likeable, works hard, and was really useful but reasonably replaceable.

Foegele was great but wanted way too much for what he brought at the time. He was getting praise on ESPN the other night when LAK was playing, he's charged himself out a great career!Trading Foegele was a rare mistake from this FO, but one that they ultimately recovered from because of Martinook's emergence. Even if Drury does better offensively with a different team, however, the Canes have a lot of options and young guys floating through the system.
