Carolina can fit Rantanen if they wish. There is now $29.5M, possibly a little more, coming off the books:

Orlov (7.75M)
Burns (5.28M)
Roslovic (2.8M)
Hall (6M)
Andersen (3.4M)
Rantanen (4.625M)
hopefully we can keep him around for like 12.5 or so but if we have to go up to like 14 so be it. We have a lot of contracts that are going to age extremely well as the cap goes up so even if we pay him that I think we're in great cap shape going forward.

Canes are probably re-signing Robinson, but he'll be a pretty reasonable cap hit. Also, Nikishin's ELC will be in Orlov's spot. RD next to Slavin will either be Burns for a cheap one-year deal or Morrow's ELC. They'll have plenty of space for Rantanen.
And I believe at least one of Nadeau and Unger Sorem make the team, probably both if they do sign Rantanen.

Goalie is the big budget item, although I'd rather see a better RD come in.

We happy.

Also, I’m still catching up but Koko survived this?!? LOL

What’s interesting is that Servellani first reported KK as part of the deal, and then later deleted the tweet and apologized. Said KK wasn’t “part of the deal to Colorado” and that “there’s a lot floating around”.

That, to me, sounds like there might be a KK deal out there (Probably Vancouver) that’s still in the works.

If we extend Rants, this is arguably the best trade in franchise history.

Seriously, this could be a impactful to us as Eichel or Tkachuk were to their teams. It gives us a legitimate top 10 player in the league and the elite scoring threat we've been desperate for in the absolute perfect archetype for the Brindy system.

Holy shit, this is a massive deal. Franchise altering if we extend.

I don't think that either of those two are quite ready yet for the big show. My guess is that they'll take a book from what they did this offseason and go on a pro-scouting binge to fill out the roster.

Going off Weekes' mysterious Pittsburgh tweet, since we still need a legit 2C it's gotta be Crosby to CAR. :naughty:

Nadeau I can understand based on size. Unger Sorem nearly made the team out of camp in 2023. I think he makes it out of camp in 2025.

I dunno, that second line looks a lot worse without Necas on it.

Robinson-KK-Blake (I’m assuming)
I think Hall goes onto that line and Robinson slides down.

I think Robinson's production takes a big hit without being able to use his straight line speed with Necas.

and i wish necas well. he could blow up in colorado and if he does i'll be happy he found a better fit.

drury to me is like losing foegele. he's likeable, works hard, and was really useful but reasonably replaceable.

Trading Foegele was a rare mistake from this FO, but one that they ultimately recovered from because of Martinook's emergence. Even if Drury does better offensively with a different team, however, the Canes have a lot of options and young guys floating through the system.

Note: The actual point totals didn't come up here
However, the leader in PO Points are in order.
Mikko Rantanen has scored 101 points

Foegele was great but wanted way too much for what he brought at the time. He was getting praise on ESPN the other night when LAK was playing, he's charged himself out a great career!
