This makes a lot of sense. Also every Canuck fan seem to drool on Necas now. Canucks want Colorado to flip Necas for Miller. Also there were rumours of Miller following Carolina related things on Social Media.

I wonder if this trade happens if Landeskog retires and they don't have the uncertainty of his salary coming back on the books next regular season.

Dude is done best case scenario for him will be a Forsberg-like 9 game type comeback before he realizes he's done.

He was elite at scoring goals, protecting the puck and piling up points from nowhere.

He was bad at taking bad penalties, general effort level, questionable attitude and, more importantly, wanting too much money on a team with 2 superstars better than him.

I agree pretty much entirely, but the bolded matters way more than the other stuff.

Wonder what it was like on the Canes board during those 10-15 minutes where they thought they traded Kotkaniemi?
I found a video recording of the end reveal:

Mate, I think this is a very negative perspective!

Martin Necas is an unbelievable player and more importantly human being. I think he’s one of the best Avalanche of all-time!

Jack Drury is immediately one of the best bottom 6 centres we have ever had and just a swell guy all around!

Those 2nd and 4th round picks are likely to turn out better than Mikko Rantanen anyways!

I’m shocked by your take. In my opinion, this even further cements the Avs as the best team in the league for many, many years to come!
What you did there... I see it!

I don't think Mikko ever had a questionable attitude. Hot head at times sure, but he wasn't a bad teammate.
