Yeah. His talent was unbelievable. He could look lazy as hell all game and then snap two into the back of the night from the right circle.

His points are a bit inflated because how many minutes they played with MacK(minutes per game). Is there a way to see his points per minute somewhere? On EV and on powerplay? That would be interesting

I’m interested to see what the deadline brings, because this is the kind of move a team markes that isn’t ’all-in’ on the now, which the Avs should be.

I personally don't see it that way. They brought in Necas to replace Mikko since the Avs can't afford him (downgrade in raw talent but we'll see how Necas plays with the Avs and is no slouch with 55 points), add depth with Drury as a 3C that pushes down Kelly where he belongs, and pick up a 2nd and 4th they can use to add more.

I think they're playing the long game, but also have acquired more pieces to add to the team.

A minimal piece but much-overlooked part of this deal is that the Avs get another right-handed forward. Since JTC left they've only had LOC and Mack (and only Mack in the POs) regularly in the top-9.

It seems like a small thing but makes them much more unpredictable offensively. Otherwise you can basically close off the right side of the ice and neutralize their forehands (Makar adds a dimension but still)

True and our depth isn't exactly good. I am okay with that. Yet we also got two picks. That's not bad either.

Yea the Jones thing seemed to just vanish. There was a time when it looked like we were getting Necas + Kotkaniemi + Jones.

I would only rate this trade after the potential contracts these players sign. If Mikko signs that 14mil per season, good luck with that.

Chicago lost the trade in every case though. Not sure why they would even do this.

Carolina can afford Rants at $14 mil and be fine considering how many value contracts they have. Hard not to give them an A unless Rants absolutely screws them over by demanding $15 mil.

Based on how they've been trying to build some sort of positive locker room, I would agree.. But I don't know that much about Pettersson. Miller is more of a wrecking ball. Who knows what happens with him.

Necas being an all world skater helps too. Only way this could be more funny from a speed perspective is if they somehow swapped Barzal for Mitts. The speed switch from Rants and Mitts to Barzal and Necas would give us all whiplash
