what’s everyone going to say when Necas has two assists today…
That's he just a product of Mack

I don't really feel the urge to myself, but how can you not look at the facts and say that Mikko didn't at least have some knowledge of exactly what you said - that 14m to him would cripple the team. He didn't care, he was going to do it anyway. It is what it is. I hope he gets paid that.
Let's talk about that 14M when he actually gets it shall we? Or are we all coming back with pitchforks when he signs for 12.25 with the Canes?
If anything it almost forces us to change our powerplay strategy in a significant way. Necas just can't play Rantanen's role therePower play wise, there’s no doubt Mikko brings more, but the PP hasn’t even been good this year.
I get that sentiment, but at the same time the cap is expected to surge upwards in the next few years. We could see a $100M cap sooner than later. Teams may want to try and artificially set internal caps based on what the best player is making but good luck selling that to the rest of the guys who have every right to go after their % of a rising cap. You can only leverage an internal cap for so long before the reality of the market forces your hand.I’m not saying he’s greedy because of his first contract. I’m saying he was the highest paid player on the team and now that Nate finally got the contract he deserves, it’s greedy of Mikko to expect to make more one year later.
What's up with the Karen nickname?
I kinda like dude as a player a lot, but he's way over his head playing center on the third line. I think he could thrive as a 4th line winger though.
I wish I had the cap calculations I did for Rantanen scenarios. I'll redo them when we're done making moves. But it's at least certain that we'd lose Drouin this summer and Lehkonen in two years when his deal is up. And the big question mark is Makars new deal. Cap wise Rants for 14M would have been messy even before considering Landeskog possibly coming back and eating 7M of the cap.
“I think he looked at Draisaitl’s number, I think he asked for Draisaitl’s number, in that area and I just don’t think the Avalanche wanted to do that. That's not true, and no, Friedman didn't say that either. His ask was around 11.75-12.5
Auto correct, so I just left it lol.
Also here we go.. Lineup with Mikko at center lol.
Probably Vancouver was on his 9 team NMC. 7 Canadian teams plus maybe CBJ and somewhere else. With all the Vancouver rumors, I wonder if Rantanen for EP was ever in play. Or perhaps Cmac valued getting Rantanen out of the West, we know he had multiple offers on the table for Rantanen.

Everyone that has followed the NHL, let's say two years or more, knows he will not be traded in the middle of Stanley Cup window/year. So none of that crazy talk here thanks.

He’s definitely going to start with Mackinnon for Mackinnon’s sake lol. He’s probably not in a great mood today. Bednar’s gonna at least give him NecasI wouldn’t mind seeing Necas start with Nate, just as a little morale boost to him.
But putting him on the second line and spreading that speed throughout the lineup, might make this team more difficult to defend.
Look forward to seeing the line combos once Val comes back.
