Power doesn't look.good.to.me lol.
Sophomore growing pains....He hasn't been good and Adams handed him 8 million a season

Buffalo got their first look at their future captain tonight. Bo played pretty well. He’s got another gear above that though.

Huh. His analytics suggest he was your best player tonight. Still room for improvement.

We have been watching the future captain since Dahlin was drafted.

Such a good sample size. Most players look good for their first couple games on a new team. That doesn't mean you throw away the analytics of the previous 50 games where Byram looks like crap.

But congrats to him for having one good game this season I guess

Yes. You do. Avs played him off hand and with crappy forwards like RyJo, wood and Colton.

No you don't because even with bad players his personal underlying numbers would be good but they suck. He has either looked like crap or has been injured for most of his time in the NHL. You want to make excuses over and over for him? Go ahead. I am not planning the parade route because he had 1 decent game. The numbers don't back you up.

I’ll give you RyJo, but Wood and Colton are not crappy forwards.

I think that Byram will eventually be a really good defenseman, but there’s no reason to make excuses for his play with the Avs the last couple of years.

There’s a lot of factors that have contributed to it, but he hasn’t been anywhere as good as he was in the playoffs during the Avs Cup run, so that’s still slightly concerning.

I think there’s significantly more risk with Byram than Mitts, but the potential reward is also higher with Byram than Mitts.

Ultimately, I think that both teams will be happy with this trade down the line.

Buffalo got a really good young Dman, too many people are stat and card watching and not watching him play and seeing his skillset.

The naysayers are going to eat crow on this one.

Not likely. It's been patently obvious for over a year that the Sabres have exactly one two way forward, being Mittelstadt. That the Sabres brass cannot properly evaluate their own players is heartbreaking. Dylan Cozens is a terrible defensive forward. Tage Thompson is a bad defensive forward. Name another team that has $15 tied up into two centers that can't play defense.
This trade is a bad one for the Sabres because it almost doesn't matter how good Byram is. Unless he's a Norris candidate, this trade is a trainwreck from a team building point of view.

As much as I appreciate Byram, and his potential leadership, this has been and is Dahlin's team.

What? He’s the best Center the Sabres had. When they realize Cousins and Thompson are wings at the NHL level they might regret the trade.
Tage is a center and Cozens has been one of their 3 best players in the back stretch here he looks like advertised again.

Jeez, some of you Sabre fans need to step back from the ledge. We didn’t trade away prime Doug Gilmour, despite what you think.

I see the wisdom of not wanting to tie up $7 million in a 60 point player whom is #3 on the depth chart.

We got a taste of how good a player we acquired last night and I am excited to see him on this team.

Some avs fans are becoming notorious for bashing their players once traded to make their GM look good. It's strange because I think the GM is doing a fine job and doesn't need the sucking up to.

People were saying Newhook was crap. He isn't. Now Byram is crap? He isn't.

Just because a young player doesn't make an instant impact on a contending team doesn't mean he can't find his rhythm elsewhere.

Further, it seems as though there is just a never ending goddamn supply of habs fans who keep popping in to Avs threads and can't seem to keep their opinions to themselves
