Coaching is a serious problem.

Would have made more sense to have veteran ass coaches with him but they are all new , feel like they are all over the place

At least when you have a vet whether it's as assistant or head coach, it's someone that has seen a gazillion scenarios happen after years of coaching. When you have a coach that is new to this job, he is facing things that has never happen to him before and might feel lost and desperate and panic whereas a vet has seen it many times and can fix the problem quickly and move on.

While Marty's relationship with the players might be better than with a vet, I actually fear more for the development of the young guys with an innexperience guy like him cause when things go wrong, an experienced guy might calm things everything down and it's comforting to the young players. If they panic and they see the guy behind the bench panic, it's chaos. They might lose themselves.

What happens if the Habs lose the next 3 games? Stay the course? Keep watching young players regress? Just trying to figure out how things play out...the next 3 games could be significant.
Find a new scapegoat for the media to write a dozen articles about? Seriously though I'd think a move, with one or more roster players leaving and one or more coming in. Hughes needs to attempt to staunch the bleeding before ejecting MSL, despite that being my preferred choice.

Yes i feel the exact same.

Robidas has no coaching experience
Msl had none .

I feel like MSL could have been our Kirk Muller back then .

Let's hope it doesn't come to panic moves but it could happen. Watching how hard Buffalo plays i give the Habs zero chance of winning tomorrow and they haven't beat Minnesota it seems since the days of Bill Goldsworthy and Cesare Maniago. 🤣🤣

I meant less of a panic move and more of a 'see if you can ship out a DVO or Armia and get actual solid vets'.

Any career coach would be out by now, but hey, MSL is a former star player.
Not even close. He’s done pretty well coming into this season. No doubt the team’s struggling now and we might look to change things up but I don’t think you have to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

They can change the system without changing the coach.

Is Marty willing to change any system? He hasn't shown that to be the case yet

The leash is always longer for a rebuilding team and there was small improvements the last few games.

Also, who replace MSL? Habs assistants are a career OHL coach and Robidas and I don't think promoting Vincen is a good idea for the prospects down there.

MSL isn't danger... Unless the Bruins fire their coach.

Interesting question.
As a rebuilding team I have no issues dumping everything that will give us something back including Evans who we can always resign if the price is right.
I'd do everything in my power to acquire an asset on the right side to facilitate moving Matheson.
I'd also try to get more than just a handful of games for our forwards who are knocking loudly.
At one point admitting we are lowering some of our expectations might help.
There are still lessons to be learned about how to properly transition into a team who are accountable.

How do you watch every young player though lose confidence and development?
