Yes he should have had an experienced assistant once Richardson left.. now it's hard to get one in there, if they do, it has to be a unilingual guy that isn't seen as a potential successor.

No way they can put someone behind the bench that would get calls to replace Marty, it'd be a powder keg that would blow way too quickly.
Imagine being the most storied franchise in the sport and you simply cannot hire the best available coach because of language in 2024. Sad....and we will never succeed like this. Just take your medicine already the french fans (like me) will get over it once the team starts winning.

Would have made more sense to have veteran ass coaches with him but they are all new , feel like they are all over the place
Would have made more sense to hire a qualified coach

So our system was use by the four of the last 5 stanley cup champs but we fail to execute it lol

We are bad.
Exactly. We aren't there yet so why not adjust the system so we don't look sooo brutal out there.

I think we should keep MSL solely because he is a great leader of men but they absolutely need to surround him with extremely experienced assistants who can implement the actual systems.

HuGo has to make it clear that it is not his decision.
It kinda is his decision actually. They can't force him to get an assistant coach against his will. Imagine the mess if they did.

If my memory serves me right that's happened often in MTL under previous regimes when the coach was struggling

Bergevin was in his own galaxy with regard to dominating organizational decisions. It’s not normal to force assistant coaches to a coach and then force his replacement to keep them. But it was with Marc Bergevin.

I hope HuGo won’t do the same.

MSL is on the hot seat but he’s owed some help from HuGo before that.
