Coaching is a serious problem.

Listening to Marty's press conference he sounds like a defeated guy.
He looked like a dude who haven't sleep for a few days in his Long Island pre-game scrum.

One of HuGo said they wanted him to delegate more. I think there are things happening behind the scene that we aren't privy to that are impacting things.

Like the players playing like shit. This used to be fixed in a few games (outside not being ready at puck drop, they never fixed that and it's from before MSL). But it's been 6 games and the same problems are still there. There is some individual improvement here and there, but collectively it's still mostly a shit show.

No one cares
He had never coached to begin with with an odd choice from the start
We couldn't hire another version of Therrien or even Guy Boucher for that matter. I think that giving MSL a shot was a good decision but they should have hired an experienced defensive coach and pp specialist to help him. He could learn the ropes from both and develop his own style along the way.

Yeah I totally agree with that, slowly let him learn from other experienced guys. It was never fair to bring in Burrows , Letowski etc and say 'here you go'. But I also feel the same about our prospects like a Hutson, he is not an NHL player at this point, he's being thrown to the wolves. If we had an established blueline he may be able to figure it out, but we do not.

Every time i hear " the lack of system" i think I'm in a Laffs forum.

There is a system, it's collapsing into tight zone defense but it's not working because it's too tight, which limits outlet passes and we don't have a Jesus Price to bail us out.

Martys "system" is the reason our rookies make mistakes...because it limits the available people to outlet pass. It really favours defenseman that can skate out with the puck, but we have one elite skating defenseman and 6 limited ones.

Ok...keep saying we don't have a system...whatever...

whatever you want to call Bombay’s system, it sucks.

Never seen a team get hemmed in so bad on the cycle. It happens multiple times a game. M vs M is for beer league, they spend so much time chasing its ridiculous.

Hard to blame the goalies, Habs are last in shots against per game. They will let in the bad goal but they are facing too many quality chances.

I clearly said it's too tight...which gives too much room to the opposition, gives less options to break out, exposes mediocre goaltending.

Great!

Monty isn’t a mediocre goalie, team in front of his is

Coaching isn't great, but neither are the players they have to work with.
Injuries and whatnot, they just aren't good.
Already said my piece about what I think we're missing, and it's still quite a few pieces, especially on defence and goaltending.

Saturday will be very telling. If they don’t come out with some serious jam and adjustments and it’s the same old, might as well boot Bombay that night

Gordon Bombay has shelf life left but win or lose next Saturday isn't the issue...it will be effort and solid all
around play.

Oh I get it. But what do they do if they come out and stink up the joint again? To me that would be a clear sign from the players.

That's when I will realize that they simply are a bad team and accept it. Maybe they just suck.

Love Marty as a person would be an amazing assistant coach but to give Marty a chance as head coach he needs :
-Experienced ass coach
-Solid veteran warriors (weber, toews, perry)
-some jam in the lineup (force his hand to play them)
-real #1 dman
-solid veteran backup goalie
