Can you guys fire Clode already

Always loved how you guys played hockey the last few years. Also been impressed with Krugs development.

Yeah... Call it a hunch, but I don't think fans will have much of a say in Julien's fate.

If he is fired (God forbid), he'll have another NHL job within five minutes.

I guess since we don't actually have a say in anything to do with the actual workings of the team we should just stop posting and shut the site down.

Genius logic once again.

Oh, and God won't have much of a say in Julien's fate either.

Fans have a lot of say. They're the ones who pay the bills.

How does one think the FO felt when the boos rained down and the building emptied during the final home game of the season? Indifferent? Not a chance.

I think Claude is a good coach and yes I think he over exceeded expectations with the talent level he had this year, but holly moly two years in a row with a dozen games left we are battling for the division lead and then we miss the playoffs. I don't care how much you have over exceeded that is unacceptable.

This is in response to GloryDaze's post about it only being 3 days since the end of the season:

Generally with a decision like this though theres not a ton of deliberation. It's relatively clear cut and it makes me nervous that there has been no word at all. Not even like a "Don Sweeney will hold a press conference on Thursday" or whatever. Nothing. Just dead air while they know that out in the media etc its widely thought that the coach is a sitting duck and at the very least is on the hot seat. Knowing that and just kind of sitting idly by and not making some sort of statement/decision is irritating me a bit. If I'm being impatient in your eyes I understand that I just think this is something that should have been decided one way or the other by now and I think it makes the organization look disorganized and confused as to what to do.... whether or not that's actually accurate or not.

I agree. Especially after last season. I understood then that Sweeney was entering a new role and needed to perform his own post season analysis, discuss his vision of the team with Claude, and then deliberate. Indecisiveness this time around I don't like, and it's not fair to Claude. It should be done within 48 hours. If not, I'm assuming he's their guy for next season.

This and failing to meet management's beginning of year objective to change the way the team plays is why the bruins will soon be looking for a replacement.

Can we trade Claude at all to get any sort of compensation?

I was wondering the same thing. Well sorta, I'm not sure how many years were left on his contract. so if he is bought out , will he be able to coach right away or Can the Bruins make him have to wait until the contract years are up unless they're compensated?

You can't make them wait.

Amazing that some of you people keep watching. Just amazing. Guess it just gives you one more thing to complain about.

I'm sorry some of us actually have expectations. I thought once we won a Cup that the bar would be raised in that area at least. But hey, we had the most points ever of a team that didn't qualify for the play-offs and this year we had six more points than the Wild!

Yeah, I was, of course, responding to the "can you guys fire Claude already" comment.

"We guys" have the power to do bupkis. That certainly is not an order (not even a request) to cease discussion.

How about when fans stop paying out big bucks to see snoozefest 2-1 loses? I'd say many people that sell tickets there are concerned about the home record no?

Righteous, BMC!

I hope he does, too. Then Claude can give them a richly deserved Ference Salute & kick their ass four times a year in OTT.

The way the Bruins treated Julien last season really angered me. You don't treat an employee like that, not if you're competent and have any shred of decency.

I mean, you do seem to enjoy being miserable

Pretty sure sports are the last thing that makes Lonnie miserable.

Fans come in all types. Team choked, again. I certainly am not going to lose any sleep over it. I'm not saying they should have won the division, or even finished top 6 seeds, but one point vs NJ, CAR and OTT when all you needed was TWO POINTS TOTAL TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS is a complete and utter choke job.

Yeah, regardless of anyone's opinion of whether they should replace Claude or not.. the way Don approached it last season and the way he seems to be approaching it this season is utter and total horse malarkey.

comments like this bother me. CJ's teams are more often than not in the top 10 in the NHL in scoring. Top 5 again this year yet people always say how the games are low scoring snoozefests.

I just don't get it. what team am I watching.

You may not agree, but the president of the team has been quoted on the radio as saying you can't win a game zero to zero, and several other loaded comments alluding to the dynamic Lou mentions above. Julien plays for the tie and to steal a point. That's what he does. His goal is to keep it close and try to get to OT.

There are a lot of things that go on behind the scenes, so why are we to just assume because they haven't told us, that decisions haven't already been made and the appropriate parties notified?

Last year, EDM obviously wanted to talk to Chia, so that had to be worked out before any announcement. In addition, they were not going to make a decision on Clode until they hired a GM and then let him do his due diligence. I'm sure that Sweeney was in communication with Clode last year while this was going on. Either way, Julien was going to get paid, so I'm not going to shed crocodile tears for the guy given the circumstances.
