I still don't get the timing complaints. Other than it should have happened weeks ago. People seriously think Claude should have led practice today and then gotten fired tomorrow? Or that we should have cancelled practice? Because that worked last time. What's important here?

Why not Sunday, if Saturday night was the last straw? They didn't know until today? How about yesterday?

Take away the parade, what took them 3 days to figure out they wanted to move on?

Great coach, I think he's the best in the NHL but I still think this was the right decision. No matter how good you are, NHL players start to tune out after that many years.

Just curious : who do you think "tuned out after that many years"?

Lets begin by looking at the players that have been here for "many years" :

Rask
Bergeron
Marchand
Chara
Krejci
McQuaid
Krug

I don't see anyone in here who might have tuned out. Most probable options are Krejci but he always played a bit lazy, and Krug who gets a lot of shots on goal but cannot score this year for some reason.

Then you have the new guys :

Pasta
Carlo
C. Miller
K. Miller
Spooner
Morrow
Liles
Moore
Hayes
Beleskey
Schaller
Backes
Khudo
McIntyre
Heinen
Cehlarik

And from that list, it looks like at least half of them are failing to make anything positive happen. But they haven't been around to fit the "tune out after so many years" category.

So who exactly do you think has tuned out the coach? Because for me it looks a lot more like the players who are failing are the ones that have been newly acquired.

The scary part

I suspect DS and company think they can still make playoffs resultant of a new coach's influence. Why else would they fire CJ now? Last year they needed to **** or get off the pot and I could relate at that time, why it might be a tough choice. This year, without a doubt, it's time to get off the pot. If they don't, we will end up hanging on to aging, diminishing assets, while collecting more of the same at the expense of the future. Sell, sell, sell, let the rebuild begin now! lol, we all know the Jacob's won't allow that to happen because they have to stick their noses into the hockey side and have no clue in that regard. It's all about the playoff $$$ for them.

In any organization. Succesful organization. How things are done are as important as what is done.

Fact.

No kidding.
I laughed. He thinks Rask is the biggest issue for where the Bruins are.

Ffs without Rask this team would be battling for a top 3 pick.

What an idiot.

He's right, if not for Rask this season would have been out of reach in October, so he is the reason they are where they are:laugh:

Never understood that argument

How many players have been here for "that many years"?

How many guys have even been on the team longer than even just three years? Six maybe? (37 63, 46, 33, 54, 40)

Not sure which ones of those guys is "tuning anyone out"

Well, none of them brought a whole lot to the table when it mattered down the stretch 3 years in a row.

I've said all along, I blame the players just as much as I blame anyone, and I'm talking the players who are supposedly team leaders.

Whats important is treating the guy who was the most wining coach in your history with a little respect when letting him go. Whats important is treating the guy that brought your franchise its first cup in 40 years a little respect on his way out.

They should have waited until tomorrow and then let him go in a respectful complimentary way thanking him for his services and what he did to help bring the organization back from the dead when he came aboard.

They hid behind a parade so they didn't have to face the music. They thought they could sweep it under the rug while everyone was focused on the pats win.

I am getting texts now from friends that went to the parade that are in shock and just found out that he was fired. Way after the press conference which is what the bruins wanted. It was low class to do it this way and I lost all respect for Sweeney and Neely for handling it this way.

I have always given management the benefit of the doubt when it comes to moves, signings, trades coaching decissions but this one was just classless to the guy that holds the record for wins for your franchise. classless.

It would be like Kraft letting Belichick go the day of the red sox parade and not giving him some time in the spot light and thanking him for what he did for the franchise because he was afraid of the backlash. Weak and spineless

People would complain just as loudly that it happened the day of the Super Bowl.

When have the Patriots ever acted this way, though, want to throw in the NBA franchise, too, while we're at it, and both have done the same exact thing, Parcells did it here and Belichick did it to the Jets, how is what Belichick did the same thing to the Jets akin to this?
