Been wanting Claude gone for a long time, he is a great defensive coach and better suited to be asst. coach I think anyway. Amazing what a coaching change and team style of play can do.

I agree.

CJ could fit into all kinds of teams (when the NHL was in grinding mode)

but now, could only be a coach of a team with several top end one on one talents not shy to work hard on the defensive end....or coach an AHL team to teach young players discipline

2017 McQuaid

Emotion. Who was the last player that showed the anger Kevan Miller did last night? 2011 Lucic?

I know it's been a long week but pretty sure it was last Saturday when McQuaid caved in the other team's best player and then forced their tough guy into a fight before dropping him with a huge right hand. I think he was angry.

He didn't force him. Martin asked for the fight; he was explicitly sent over the boards to get McQuaid for his hit on Matthews. Despite being at the end of a long shift against a fresh and experienced foe, McQuaid willingly engaged and then dummied the poor *******.

It's absolutely laughable to say Chia and Claude inherited garbage. They inherited the very core that won their one and only Cup. Chia had an all time great 2010 off season and 2011 trade deadline. But to say they came here with the cupboards bare is insane.

That's not what I meant. They had Patrice, and they had Lucic, Marchand, DK#46 in the pipeline. I'm aware. I'm also aware that OC gave Thomas what was likely his last pro chance in North America.

What I meant is that at the time of PC's arrival, and CJ's a season later, the Boston Bruins were NHL kryptonite. They were a s*** team going absolutely nowhere. Their owner, team president and general manager were cheap, inept, stupid and arrogant. They treated their players, never mind the fans, like garbage.

No one, particularly free agents and especially the elite variety of same, wanted anything to do with the Boston Bruins.

Peter Chiarelli and Claude Julien wiped clean and drew again the face of the franchise, building a culture of playing for one another, accountability & hard work, and, eventually, winning.

PS And if the cupboard wasn't bare when PC arrived, the big club itself was a stinking pile of pooh, courtesy of JJ's edict that OC dismantle the club in anticipation of a post-lock out player market that never materialized.

I don't know if you read Dom but you should

He called this years ago to me and although you have been solid on Neely you could correct some of the things you are off on

That is, the things you and I disagree upon. :)

Aware of Dom's rumblings about the matter in the past. If you can find them, please post or PIM some of the links.

Doubtless you are pleased Cassidy got the call.

Let's see what he can do with it.
