Did any WHL skaters stand out in a good or bad way in game 6? I was unimpressed with everyone other than Byram in what I saw of game 5.

Braden Schneider was strong. I’ve really liked his play whenever I’ve watched him. For a big guy he definitely takes advantage of his size, but he also has really aggressive gaps which I don’t often see from a physical d-man.

Malyshev and maybe Zamula will make the team. Besides them?...nobody from the Super Series will. Lots of spots still open, currently were maybe at:

Malyshev, Pylenkov, Gordeev, Zorkin, Zamula, Telegin made the 28 players extended WJC roster. So at least three of these guys should make the final roster.

Lots of forwards from the superseries are also invited.
Podkolzin, Morozov, Khovanov, Sokolov, Alexandrov, Shablovskiy, Sorkin, Rtishchev, Groshev, Kruglov, Komissarov.

11 of 15 of invited forwards played in the series. Exceptions as expected: Denisenko, Dorofeev, Marchenko, Voronkov who was injured before the series.

LOL You have no idea about the russian team. 7-8 players from THAT roster? You also just discard the fact Russia had to play back to back games right after travelling for 20 hours and across the ocean time zone wise. And this year this is basically Russia's B-team. Live with it. This is the argument Canadians use all the time. Only this time all Russia's top talent is in another tournament. How bad was that team Q if they could not beat our B-team that was jetlagged and gassed?

But I was actually just telling what I saw. I saw a bad team. I don't care how many of them will or will not make the WJC squad. And the results show exactly that. This year all CHL team should be able to beat this russian squad easily. Especially in the first two games that because of unsurmountable difficulties for the CHL to make a schedule yet again were back to back after going trough how many time-zones for Russians.

Hmmm... by my count, 19 of the 28 players invited to Russia’s camp played at least one game in the series (15 alone in the game in which I made this comment not including Zavgorodniy). Yes I know a good chunk of the key players didn’t play, but I guess the roster wasn’t as terrible as you say.

This is the extended roster, also shifted due to injuries. Just as I wrote basically the top 6 and top 4 will probably nearly entirely be recruited from the players who have not played in the series. Also obviously both goalies from the series will be there, but I guess Askarov will run away with the starter spot.
